Here's an interesting one... The following list of famous men have all had something named after them, what is that common something?... Ronald Reagan Abraham Lincoln Winston Churchill Leonardo da Vinci Benjamin Britten Edward Elgar Samuel Pepys Freddie Mercury...
that was a simple guess, honest...everyone has roses named after them. OK how did teams from Cambodia, Egypt, Netherlands Spain and Switzerland all compete in the 1956 Olympic games without setting foot in Australia
As far as I remember there were a large number of nations which boycotted these games because of the Soviet invasion of Hungary and the Suez crisis (Probably the case with Egypt). Were they there in name but all of their opponents got byes when drawn against them ? The Olympic football tournament 1956 only had 10 or 11 teams in it !
nearly right hornet...but no banana...continue along that line.... These countries actually had a team in for certain events in the 1956 Olympic games
Yes Sooper The equestrian events for the Melbourne Olympics were held in stockholm...and those countries took part at that stage. But Boycotted the real event Over to you
