he Daily Courant, first published on 11 March 1702, was the first British daily newspaper. It was produced by Elizabeth Mallet at her premises next to the Kings Arms tavern at Fleet Bridge in London. The paper consisted of a single page, with advertisements on the reverse side. Mallet advertised that she intended to publish only foreign news and would not add any comments of her own, supposing her readers to have "sense enough to make reflections for themselves."

Mallet soon sold The Daily Courant to Samuel Buckley, who moved it to premises in the area of Little Britain, London, at "the sign of the Dolphin". Buckley later became the printer of The Spectator. The paper lasted until 1735, when it was merged with the Daily Gazetteer

I really like that will be using that in all my quizzes now!!!

I have a regular passenger I pick up from Little Britain who told me that it was where the first newspaper was printed...

Jane Austen has been announced as a new addition to the English banknotes.
But how many other ladies have been on our banknotes (and whom) ???

O.K. If you start off with a bag of sand, add a monkey to it and then take away a string of ponies. You then add 2 Bobby Moore's and then take away a Pavarotti and a poorly fish before adding a Lady Godiva. What do you have left ?

It is also not Hallo, Goodbye by the Beatles either is it?
You say yes, I say no. You say stop and I say go go go,. You say goodbye and I say hello Hello hello

No obviously not!
