Which is the only USA state to have not one letter in common with its capital?

Had this one in a quiz earlier this year, South Dakota...

Have I read this question correctly?

WASHINGTON DC

South Dakota has an 'S' an 'O' a 'T' a 'D' and an 'A.' When I looked at my map every state had a letter in its name from Washington DC so surely the answer is none. Am I missing something here?

I could probably have worded the question better Nines, I had in mind the capital of each particular state as opposed to the capital of the USA

Ah, I get it now mate. Once your train of thought takes one path it's difficult to revert to the correct one.

Thing? <laugh> It's a work of art. Over to you Stan...
I wasn’t sure what it is meant to be called, it certainly is a proper bit of Victorian engineering.

Staying in the same area, there is a statue of which king (and his sons) in the porch of St Dunstan in the West, Fleet Street?
