QPR played at White City Stadium for the 1962-63 season with gates barely reaching five figures. What was the highest recorded attendance at the stadium and for what event?
There were greyhounds and boxing there, as well as a match during the 66 World Cup, but no idea what actual event had the highest attendance
There were 45,662 at the Uruguay v France game in 1966. It was for a dog race - the Greyhound Derby in 1939. What was the attendance, within 5,000?
I went to White City Stadium when I was a kid, my mun took us to see a Celebrity 11 v the World Cup winning 66 Team, must've been late 70s/early 80s as we were still in East Acton then so not too far to walk. As far as I can remember, pretty much the whole team bar Alan Ball were there (he was still playing at the time) so it was quite a special occasion.
Al Martino, Where in my heart. This was on The Chase this evening. ( But I knew the answer before anyway. )
