my guess would be try to get the good scouts and set a position and level for them to look for if you are in the weaker leagues. Once I get my new LFC career going, I will start one with an second division side and see what the fuss is about. Bought Salah and Fernando ( tried to be realistic), both so far have been good.

When setting up the scouts, there is a "first team quality" option. This seems to work to a degree but is more for sustaining a league position rather than improving. Once I get out of the Championship it will become a little easier but still won't know how players have developed.

I guess the best way is when you are looking at the player when you first select them, there is normally right above the buying/loaning/etc options when the player joined, how much he recently moved for, showing great potential, key player, etc.

The only give away are the green ticks but that's not much to go on. I will quite like the system if at a top side as you have to scout them to get their ratings and make a judgement yourself so it isn't just base don overall ratings, its rubbish at a lower league team though.

Ya, scouted Guilherme ( recent call up with Brazil and plays for Mineiro) as in real life he is a good player but when the scouts came back, I didn't quite like what I saw so avoided it. One of those game ratings and real life are sometimes a bit skewed. also the release clause on some players are true to form but surprised by, for example, Holtby had a crazy release clause!!

is this still fifa.. don't you just need warm bodies and play for 1-0s to get up the leagues.

why do you need to go buy players that are this good.

I know when i played FM12.. i picked southend and got them to the prem form the bottom div off a few frees and not one single lfc kid would join me even in league 2... it was amazing they'd retire sooner than play for me.

what level of difficult are you playing on.

Seen quite a few players that you can get on a pre-contract agreement but you need money (beyond Stags' level) to do it I use the scouts to find these BTW. Tell them to search for "first team quality" with between 0 and 1 years remaining on their contract. Obviously do this around December/January time as none of the contracts run out mid season

This is the key. If its on a easy level then I could done the same. Put it on a harder level and it does matter.

I made enquires and ask my scout to look. I got the scout report back first and it said he was valued at £15m. Blackpool said they wanted £4m for him so I offered £3.5m (I'm a cheapskate) and after short negotiations I got him for £3.6m

My guess is he was cheaper because he was nearing the of his contract (got him in July/August and his contract ran out the following summer)

Fatigue is part and parcel of the game and has been for a while. You can't just have a strong eleven but that's still my approach

I am getting a ps3 for my birthday. apparently.... well i actually had to pay for it so i know. it remains to be seen if i am paid back.

they got a deal for 50 notes on a 160gb ps3

I also got a sony bravia for 100 notes 42"....

I have fifa 12 off the brother in law so play and once he gets 14 i will get 13 maybe.... i don't think i'll get a chance to play fifa with the kids mind.

Career mode

You can either be the manager or a single player that trying to rise through the ranks (or you could take over a older player too). Both scenarios let you play games as an individual or the whole team.

I prefer player-manager mode but they stopped doing that after 2012
