Most people with a decent knowledge of proper football lost interest in the Italian game as it was so obvious that the only competition involved who could generate the best bung.
I couldn't give a **** about Italian football. I do take pleasure in Arsenal losing and seeing Wenger's miserable ****ing face though.
Yes they were. But when you sell players like Fabregas - Nasri and RVP what do you expect ? Plus they also have 9 current players out injured. So maybe Arsenal need to be cut a little bit of slack. Win in 2 weeks time in Schalke and they re-gain control of the group. Not yet but its looking very hard for them. We should know for sure after the next game @ home to Ajax in 2 weeks. I suspect that Man City will fall short in the end and may have to settle for 3rd and the europa league. Yes he did look a touch pissed off last night sat up with the knobs. He can go back to the touchline now. Ban Over.
On another note, isnt it good to see the Bundesliga sides doing well when they have steadfastly - well Bayern aside - stuck to the approach of relatively low player wages, low admission costs and fan ownership of clubs. They really havent lost sight of what football should be about.
From the part of the Arsenal match that i watched, i thought Schalke stiffled them very well with the 2 defensive midfielders, which is becoming the basic method of beating Arsenal. They're lacking a striker and the passing wasn't quick enough. Thought Schalke were average and all. Mind you their group is one of the easiest, so both should go through. Turning over to see Man City v Ajax. After Citeh scored, i couldn't see a way Ajax would get back into the match. They seemed more interested in passing it from side to side and then backwards, which was dull to watch and is becoming the norm in European and International football and it bores me to death. When they eventually got into a shooting position, it was a poor effort or just rushed. I really didn't see them doing anything against Citeh, but fair play to them, they pulled it off.
And there was me thinking it was a slight cold - ie I've got a bit of a stiffle coming on. I feel a right plonker now. I should have constulted my dictionary first
I'm just looking in my Roger's Profanisaurus, which is the bible for these sort of disputes. I quote: Sticky wicket n. A well used crease with all the bounce ****ed out of it. A box of assorted creams. Stiff drink n. A warming tot of vitamin S quaffed by females and puddle jumpers. A drink on a stick. Stiff lock n. A piss-proud spooge stick. Stiffy n. A stalk. Stiffy stocking n. Rascal wrapper, cheesepipe, clingfilm, Spurt Reynolds' sickbag. Stig n. One who is a little bit council. One who is common as ****e. So there we have it, its not in dictionary corner, but certainly deserves to be. We should go with Jimmys suggestion or come up with another.
I thought a ****undrum was one of those things Party keeps experiencing- where he wants to hump his work colleague/friend but she just wants to be mates??
The insane way that UEFA seed the groups doesn't help though. Generally every group has 3 **** teams and it's a piece of piss for the bigger teams to get through. This year they've managed to get the winners from England, Spain, Germany and Holland (probably the 3 best leagues in Europe and Holland will be 5-6th) into one group. That's utterly farcical. Crap teams will be in the later stages while two of Man City, Real, Dortmund and Ajax are going home. All because of another stupid ranking system used by those in power.
