Actually got sent down. 5 years, for culpable homicide. 3 years for firearms offences. A miscarriage of justice.
Good, i could see him walking (NPI). I've always despised him since his petulant ****ing outburst after someone dared to beat him at the London paralympics.
He always did come across as a bit of a twat, didn't he? Five years though, for killing somebody? Good job there's no corruption in South Africa or one might susp- Oh.
What do you get for manslaughter here? Yes it seems light but I honestly thought he'd be freed so this is better than I expected.
As I understand from radio reports he will only serve a fifth or sixth of the 5 year sentence in jail!!!!
BBC 10:28 BBC News Africa correspondent Andrew Harding: Just spoke to Barry and June Steenkamp. Both happy with sentence and relieved it is over. Am told Pistorius will be released after 10 months.
Richard Cann ‏@RichardCann76 The real question here is whether Pistorius should be allowed to sign for Sheffield United after his release.
He'll be proper padded up , a hospital orderly to bring the t**t , his food. Medicated. He'll look better in 10 months, than he does now. Of 5 years, should serve 3y9m....
The International Paralympic Committee have just announced that Oscar Pistorius will be ineligible to compete during his five-year prison sentence, regardless of when he actually gets out.
You obviously never saw the ex-con that was interviewed immediately after sentencing Lambo, he was adamant that there would be prisoners that would be looking to make a name for themselves by getting at OP, when it was pointed out that OP would be in the hospital wing he insisted that it didn't matter, he said that convicts would purposely injure themselves to get into the hospital wing, and that once you were there you could quite easily slit someone's throat with a broken plate. Where there's a will....
I don't know if that is a reference to their other story or their nickname. Whichever, they would save a couple of Bob on shin pads!
