Can't help feeling all this spoiling of ballot papers put our country in danger of an unclear majority government. This was meant to be about a mandate to negotiate strongly with the EU on our exit. With no majority it makes us weak negotiators and will take longer (it will take long enough as it is!).
With Brexit we need a strong, and controlled, economy. Nobody knows how things will flow over the next few years, and we will need to be able to respond to the twists and challenges that will face us ahead. We are a strong nation, renowned for our back bone and tenacity. We will need it in my opinion and supporting businesses will be key - taking more money from them will either slow down our businesses or drive them away.
It's been a crap, dour campaign overall.
No national vote is a 'gimme' at the moment and we can never assume it is as simple as May will return with ease.
There is an argument for those of us who didn't actually want to leave the EU, and think it's lunacy to leave the Single Market, that having a 'weak' government without a variety of highly publicised dogmatic red lines would have a better chance of achieving this, if only by caving in on everything, as the EU doesn't want us to leave the Single Market either. Vote for whichever party is best placed to beat the Tories if this matters to you.

With a heavy heart I'll be voting Labour, in the vague hope of a Labour/SNP pact.

Interesting that the Lib Dems have been faced with glazed eyes on the doorstep when they push their Remain At All Cost agenda - so they've dropped it, and moved on to social issues. Farron must be the only person in the UK that hasn't moved on from the Brexit vote

I think the security issues and Corbyn's genuinely alternate manifesto has changed the landscape. Beside's May is seriously not going to leave the single market and destroy the City of London on her watch is she? Both her and her husband know this - which is why they were Remain, although given how incompetent she has run her campaign - I have an awful feeling she doesnt have a clue.

I backed No Tory Majority at 13/2 and covered it with Tory 1-24 seat majority at 18/1 a few weeks ago.

Come on the hung paliament!

On the Andrew Neil late night show last week, they were discussing how badly the Tory campaign had gone. Neil said that within the 'Westminster bubble' May was widely regarded as a second-rate politician, and that maybe the public were beginning to realise that the 'bubble' had it right for once.

Anyone still know how to access that poll I put up at the start of the election process.(it seemed to get lost when the threads were merged) ..when I asked you all to predict the outcome. It would be interesting to see it again!

Not that one...the one I put up 50 days ago ask what you thought would be the outcome of the election It was something like Tory, Majority, Lab majority, Hung parliament, coalition government
and it was something 48, 1, 4, 4

Oddly enough and like the Brexit vote, our poll appears to be following the predictions of the pollsters. Are we a typical example?

In the absence of "none of the above" (an idea I'm growing to like) please don't spoil your ballot papers. The winner will assign whatever reason they want to your action. No-one will ever know the real reason you did it and it will just remain a secret thought.

I think I will get a modicum of satisfaction by writing "They're all a bunch of c*nts" on the ballot paper, at least I'll know the reason why...

I don't like the look of the result. Can we have another election because I want a Tory majority? Sounds ridiculous doesn't it? No difference between that and the remoaners want another Brexit vote. Not the result I wanted, but the DEMOCRATIC process has been completed and you will hear no complaint from me.

So I take you'll not be pleased when they rerun it in a few months time?

Absolutely not. I didn't like the fact that we lost to Fulham last season either. Has any right minded person insisted on a replay? The remoaners should stop whinging and face the fact that the DEMOCRATIC process was done and seen to be done. I do not accept that arguments that we didn't have the facts available to us - we did, trouble is the whingers didn't bother to educate themselves but were happy being (mis)guided by the press. Well, guess what? TOUGH ****!!!

So you want democracy suspended until you get your way on Brexit? Even if we have a lame duck minority government?

Not at all. It is the remoaners that want democracy suspended. I already have my way on Brexit, and yesterday's election. Not quite sure what point you are trying to make.
