So has anyone here ever tried online dating? And if so, with much success? Nearly all the girls I meet tend to be in relationships (there's one in particular who is amazing) but I've not had much luck with online dating either (admittedly I haven't used it much). What sites are the best to use? Also, in terms of profile information, is it better to be matter of fact or try to add some humour (for example 'I'm a bit of a geek' or "I like football and support Portsmouth (mainly because I'm a masochist)), or would doing the latter just make it lame?

I've never done it, but know people who have. The girls are apparently really shallow and it's a nightmare.

FWIW, when I was younger I met lots of ladies that were in relationships... It didn't stop me.

Never done it. I only have one friend who has tried it, she's bisexual and she just meets people for a bit of fun. If all the other girls on there are like her, then you don't stand much of a chance of meeting "the one" (if you believe in that crap).

This.
A few consequences but they seem worth it at the time...

Meet my gf of 5 months on a social network site, never tried a dating site <laugh>.

Just go out to your local boozer on a friday / saturday night, sink about 8 pints of stella, get your beer goggles on.
its a sure bet, may not look as good in the morning tho!

I used to go on Faceparty and Yahoo chat nobbed quite a few from them places!

All gagging young hoes.

Hopefully Mollie from my thread won't read this.<laugh>

I use to do that <laugh> , AOL chat was just as bad / good <ok>

Well if you mention you support Portsmouth, that'll be enough for any girl to run 100 miles

I did see one girl who in her profile mentioned she supported Southampton and Portsmouth fans need not bother messaging her, I was tempted to just for a laugh <laugh>

Well the one of the girls I met from a dating site seemed a bit odd, she went a bit crazy and apparently blocked me on Facebook for no reason.

Wouldn't want to risk our friendship tbh, even if one of them I would absolutely love to go out with.

Lmao! Why have you posted this?

Well to see if anyone had any tips and recommendations. I've been single for ages and it's just demoralising.

Mollie is probably some old bloke or a teenage boy on a wind up who's nicked the picture off som girl's facebook. Actual women don't flaunt it on football forums.
