We have now gone a whole year vitually since our 5-1 win over Stoke and it doesn,t make good reading. In 38 games we have failed to score in 19 of them and overall the record is extremely poor.

Won 12 Drawn 6 Lost 20

Points 42

Goals For 37 Goals Against 60

I can think of no other club that has retained a manager with such a record and it won't get any better with Man.Un coming up on Boxing Day. When, oh when will Ashley see the light?

And yet we finished top 10 last season and sit in the top 10 again this season. Remarkable really.

Hull and Bruce fella.

Yeah, think there's stuff going on there, that we don't know too much about. Thinking Team Name issues with the Chairman and whatever has happened with Ben Arfa.

I go on the Hull board a lot, questions are being asked of him now.

Sacking most be imminent. Wonder if we get him sacked on boxing day.

I'm very rarely right, but I was bang on about Bruce, when everyone and their mother's wanted him to replace Pardew (several times). He's not a bad manager, he's terrible at buying players though. Whenever he's given money, at Birmingham, at Wigan, at Sunderland and now at Hull, he wastes it and the team gets worse. Then, he either hops sideways to another mid-table/struggling club, does average/decent with the squad he inherits, then proceeds to piss away funds again!

if there's one manager who needs a DoF, it's Bruce.

Would be ironic, especially after it was losing to Wigan that got him sacked from you guys.

Aye it would.

Agreed, He just can't evolve his squad. All his team lose it's identity.

Ashley saw the light when he appointed Pardew. He got a manager who would work under a certain remit which Pardew has done. I can't think of many
managers that would have worked under the conditions put upon him and succeeded the way he has.
It's very easy to slaughter the bloke based on unrealistic expectations without giving much
thought to his mandate from
Ashley, however he deserves a bit of credit for what he's actually done rather than what he hasn't.

Unfortunately the Keegan era and good times with Sir Bobby were not a true representation of our status amongst the " big boys " if you take where we've been over the last 60 years. I not denying we are a big club, however unless someone with multi millions takes over the club and buys successs ( which I wouldn't really go a bundle on), we have to accept our current situation and take take the rough with the smooth.

I agree

Ashley's remit is to be an average team
and Pardew's doing a good job of it

Newcastle United 9 December 2010 to the Present
played 183
won 70
draw 41
lost 72
win ratio 38.25%

just average

When you look at his record and the divisions his teams have been in. Think there is only Reading where he has been above par. Wasn't at Southampton long enough to judge properly. Has had the odd good year finishing 5th at Newcastle and 9th with West Ham getting to the FA Cup Final.
