We are not a team and that is because of Barton, he should not be captain. If Barton was removed, we wouldnt miss him and Im sure the squad would be a whole lot happier and play better.
Flyer, not sure if you were there today. We were AWFUL. Zamora looked like he had concrere boots on, SWP cannot pass, Adel DOESN'T pass, Mackie chases EVERYTHING but so does my Jack Russell, Joey shows NO commitment, and the back four look like they've never met! Poor substitutions both in terms of timing and who replaced who. Apart from that, a great day out!
I was there, the defence did well and I can only remember 2 shots on target, the goal and a shot in the 1st half. But why were we so bad? It happens for a couple of reasons, having a terrible goalie (which we have, its incredibly frustrating to run for 90 mins and then have a clown let everything in) and discontent in the camp, that was proven by Barton having battles and arguing with his own team mates, that proves hes a dick and they dont respect him. We need to drop Kenny and Barton and then the results will improve.
Okay I have a few ideas....many gone before BUT all serious 1Keep the faith, three other teams are worse than we are 2 Play with 11 men 3 Drop SWP 4 Tell Barton he has two matches to make his mark or he is dropped 5 Don't panic 6 Persist with Adel 7 Persist with Mackie 8 Don't panic, we lost very little ground today And may I make a small suggestion....score some goals...the 4 nils and the 6 nils have gone, even playing with 10 men we are only losing by the odd goal...if we started scoring the odd goal you never know AND DON'T PANIC In Sparky I trust Off to bed now I have had a bad day
Ciarrai,You and I have been saying for ages that SWP should be dropped I cannot believe that profession footballers seem to find it so hard to pass a ball.
Good summary, Beth, was waiting for 10, but the consensus thus far is: 1. No more red cards or the remainder of the season 2. Drop SWP and replace with Armand Traoré 3. Get tough on player conduct and discipline 4. Drop Barton as captain and reinstall Taarabt (or consider Ferdinand) 5. Keep the faith and believe we will survive 6. Fans mentalities - no knee jerk reactions - and get behind the team 7. Get players to leave egos on the touch line and focus on the basics 8. Rest Kenny and give Cerny in a run in the team
I was there too, I saw Kenny make two saves to stop it being two nil. One was really excellent It is not Kenny It is playing with 11 and SCORING GOALS
Bring a sports psychologist in to reinstall the belief that we can beat anybody. We won't get there by being overelaborate on tactics but rather playing with a smile on our faces from the knowledge that even when we have given the opposition a goal or two headstart we can still reel them in and triumph. That's what we had last season. And it was bloody good to watch.
Agree he made one great save that was smashed at him. Also all give Adel a break he is getting back to the AT of last year, he got away a number of shots today..... you can only score if your shooting!! Yes there were times he over did it but that's no different to last year and frankly he offered our best hope today going forward. What a pass for swp miss?!! At least I think it was him with that bl00dy post in the way!
Our defence was solid on the first half....Well as solid as a soft butter would be against hot knife! They were terrible for the first 45 min but they get better after Diakates sent off. By the way bully boy was Barton somehow responsibly of his sent off?
Drop Anton, he's not good enough at present. Hall, Onouha, Gabbidon and Hill are all better CB's now. I'd have Gabbi and Hill (based on yesterday), with Onouha at RB, and Taigo or Traore LB.
I don't know who gave this thread a five star rating, but thank you! Very kind. Some great points too - @tonyfernandes @amitbhatia - are you reading this, if so, please pass these positive thoughts!
I'm very good Cerny. Met up with some old colleagues this morning for a walk in the Cotswolds, absolutely stunning scenery, lovely and warm out in the open and spotted a few new lambs frolicking in the fields. Cheered me up after yesterday's debacle. The pint tasted absolutely fantastic afterwards too! How about you Cerny?
I've been thinking about QPR's predicament and the contrast to Swansea and Norwich's fortunes so far. I have a thought. The one thing QPR really need at the moment is an underdog mentality. The worst thing for your team at the moment is everyone saying 'QPR will be fine' or 'they have too much quality to go down'. Part of the reason Norwich and Swansea have gelled together and fought so well this year is that everyone said we were doomed from the start. Our players were equally dismissed as not good enough. Proving a point is so much easier when it proves others wrong. And when no other club seems to take you seriously, you fight for the one that does. Holt's a good example for us. despite 10 goals he still gets undervalued by others, and constantly repays NCFC's faith in him by giving everything. The teams you're up against in the relegation battle know how to create that siege mentality, and muscle out results. Look at Wolves fight back yesterday. That's the kind of attitude that counts at this point of the season. I think Wigan will start to show that too, and Blackburn have a very good striker in Yak to help their push. Hughes needs to make the players feel like they're really deep in the ****, and that if they don't fight to get out of it that **** will stick to them as individuals too. I think Barton is fairly vital to that working, and hughes should start there. Whether he talks to him, drops him as captain, or benches him for a while, he needs to find a way to get the idea across that transfer fees and big weekly wages count for nothing if the players can't prove they are premier league when the going is tough. In short, they need the press to start worrying about them, and casting doubt on the quality of the side. It might prick the ego's of a few players into greater achievement if they feel their reputation and future playing options are being diminished.
All very good points above. I totally agree that Kenny needs to be dropped. He seems to let everything in. Barton is clearly not a good influence on the team and is no leader for sure. I would change captain - maybe not to Taarabt, but to Ferdinand or even drop Barton and make Derry captain. Batterseacanary - thats a good point. But tbh i think we are too far down the road with these egos to create that sort of siege mentality. That sort of spirit in the past few seasons kept us in the NPC and got us up last season. But since the arrival of these so called premier league players that has disappeared. And it is very tough to get back once it has gone.
Whenever i hear the MOTD pundits saying QPR will be fine i can't help feeling their dooming you a bit. And i'm biased because the backbone of Norwich is unproven championship/league one guys, but i feel a bit sorry for the original guys who got you up. I think thats where a lot of the fight could still be ignited from. Now go beat Everton please ! Otherwise they get 8th off us.
