I have only watched the 2 Sky games so far and witnessed us score 1 goal, he is the only forward player who has managed to score and is currently the leagues top scorer Grabban is a budget buy £3m player and already he has scored more than Elmander RVW and Lafferty put together i don't think he is the next Ronaldo but what do you want from him?
Hooper is yet to achieve anything for us so at the moment he is our only credible goalscorer , we are not going to be buying any £10m strikers anytime soon so get used to watching what we have miss chances .
I am over the moon that Grabban has scored 5 in 5 and find it impossible to complain about his contribution.
If i had been lucky enough to be at the 3 games that i didn't watch live do you think seeing him score in the flesh would make me change my mind?
You went to 1 game JR does that make your opinions more valid than mine?

You're entitled to your opinion SN23, but I have seen his performances in 4 of our 5 league games (was elsewhere on Sat). I agree his 5 goals are excellent return, but my seat is just behind the 'River End' goal and I'm sure had Hooper been presented with some of the 'gilt edged' opportunities that Grabban has had, then our goal difference would be greater.

Yes, but Hooper wasn't available and Grabban has converted more goals than anyone in the top two divisions this season so what, exactly, is your complaint?

I understand. But surely you understand that if a striker is scoring goals you don't mess things around and stick him on the wing? While he's scoring you leave him alone and let him get on with it.

Not sure why I'm engaging with a criminal anyway...

I think people are getting confused. Read all my posts in this thread and you will find one where I quite clearly say I can understand why Adams felt he should stick with a winning formula. I get that! What I believe though is that we'd get a lot more out of all three if they were played in different roles. Two of the three forwards are playing out of position really. Why wouldn't you change that?

I honestly don't get it i think i'm going mental HE IS THE BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE AT THE MOMENT in his position and with a 100% goal to games ratio...
Weird just weird .

OK, perhaps I'm being pedantic!!!

I agree that Lafferty is completely worthless out wide but my point is that you shouldn't move anybody around if a consequence of that is that Grabban himself is moved. The entire team should centre around him at the moment because he is scoring goals and goals win games.

But again, not sure if you've seen the games but if you have you will have noticed that despite his goals, Grabban is failing to do the job of a lone striker by bringing other players into the game. Because of this both Redmond and Lafferty also struggle. Honestly, nobody is saying this because we don't like Grabban or god knows what else - we are saying it because the front three really is quite clearly unbalanced. I totally understand that if you look from the outside and see the goal return you probably think we are going mad but we have eyes!! Criminal eyes, in my case... ;)

Lafferty is a gangly left winger he is not a natural center forward that's probably why Palermo sold him for a couple of mil...
There you go again with the "if you look from the outside " comment Supers it makes you look like you are right and others are not part of the fan base.
I don't think you intend to but you come across as if you know everything and it annoys people.

It doesn't annoy me. I just keep a tight hold on my wallet.

I think your missing Adams point Pyjamas.

I don't think he is even asking Grabban to act like a traditional lone striker, he wants him to receive the ball at the point of shooting, not to set others up. The wingers are supposed to be the ones bringing the ball out. Nobody can deny the tactic is generating him chances.

Not my cup of tea because I like strikers who have good touch and control and can bring others into the game. But, he is scoring when needed.

Agreed. <ok>

I'm in the "if it ain't broke" camp. But I don't see why we can't criticise a player for specific choices during a match.

Chris Hughton has left the building, let's not go looking for someone else to divide the fan base! We are all entitled to an opinion, but at tge end of the day, it doesn't matter what we think, Neyul doesn't take instructions from our forum!
