It tells me a lot of them that they'd do it in the first place. Innocence before guilt is irrelevant; chanting 'One Adam Johnson' the first game after he was arrested was very seedy. Everyone knows why they did it.
 
Embarrassing that the club chose to lift his suspension before there was a conclusion anarl.
 
Adam Johnson: Sunderland winger can continue to play for club

Adam Johnson can continue to play for Sunderland after he was charged with three offences of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl on Thursday.

The 27-year-old has played three times for the club since his 2 March arrest.

"The club recognises that the formal legal process must take its course and whilst our position remains unchanged, we will keep the matter under review," read a Sunderland statement.

"The club will not be making any further comment."

Midfielder Johnson, who has 12 England caps, was also charged with one offence of grooming and will appear before Peterlee Magistrates' Court on 20 May.

He was suspended by the Premier League club after his arrest pending the outcome of the investigation, but this was lifted on 18 March.

I guess we're seeing what price the club places on premier league survival.

You can't believe they would even consider any action other than suspension.

If Big Sam has any sense he will tell Adam Johnson to stay away. The fact that AJ has now admitted 2 offences should be more than enough cause to do that regardless of the outcome of the other 2 charges.

I wonder if the Prison system transfer window is still open ? <whistle>
