So now Blackburn has a bigger Covid spike than Leicester. Well well well! Who would of thought it? There is a common link here that no one dare come out and say.
Well I’m not scared to say what it is, even if the Government and local leaders are!
It’s only worse in towns and city’s that have won the premier league!
**** it! I’m off to live in Tottenham. I should be safe there!

:emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl::emoticon-0140-rofl: you'd be safe in Bermondsey for a good while too

As a point of order;

Referring to posters who are not deemed to be the right of centre as the ' looney left ' is both incorrect and derogatory. I'm sure it probably started as a bit of humour but it's gone beyond that now.

In fact, a lot of the terminology on this thread especially when referring to each other is deragatory and should cease in my opinion.
I suspect you mean to the left, but I get your point.

No, my mistake I should read whole sentences

I have a bucket full of ashes and I am now going to find some sack cloth

Nicola Fish Face has just hammered the final nail in her own coffin by banning freedom of speech in Scotland.

She's a dictator who supports the agendas of the corrupt EU Parliamentarians

There you have all you need to know. A couple of pages of decent debate on what’s acceptable to post etc, centred around LL’s ‘contribution’. His response... post another video.

Now... I don’t like Sturgeon, I’d love to see her political career finished but that’s me on a personal level so before you jump on saying I’m defending her, I’d love nothing more for her to hammer the final nail into her political coffin as you put it.

This video is one guys thoughts, he is looking at possible but highly unlikely extreme views. The important part he has missed out is this is the SNP looking at changes to their “Hate Crime Laws” and how those changes could “Possibly” have an effect on freedom of speech.

It is actually looking at plans to make it a criminal offence to "stir up hatred" against anyone based on their age, disability, religion, sexual orientation or transgender identity.

Why not debate what is actually happening rather than post a one sided gender ridden video?

What are your thoughts on Ajam Choudary the hate preacher?

Correct Ringo. The reason for these spikes and the others is down primarily to poverty. More people crammed into confined spaces (housing and workplaces) aids infecection transmission. Sadly some entire towns are poor after decades of underfunding and lack of decent jobs. In some other places it is just individual workplaces or streets. The welsh meat factory employed only whites! There are of course some cultural issues too, like the Italians our aisian communities tend to live in multi generational houses so infection risks are higher. But on the other hand they don’t tend to treat their elderly relatives as a burden to be shunted to care homes. How many white old people have we killed through this? Or were you suggesting some other reason?

I think Ringo was making a joke mate

Not sure the right to free speech laws need touching tbh. The right to free speech has never been unconditional. It always came with a responsibility not to invite or perpetuate hatred.

There was a punchline, but the rest was not too dissimilar to previous comments my millwall supporting friend has made. I can like the bloke but hate his politics?
Fair enough I just took it at face value. I understand what you're saying and Leicester and Blackburn are topical in the UK as much as Hume, Wyndham, Yarra Ranges etc are to us

I believe the Scots are trying to extend that protection to other vulnerable groups.

I stopped arguing/defending myself on here because I felt I was being labelled and there were those who felt they needed to educate posters who didn't agree with them.
This country is being slowly strangled by political correctness. It has reached epidemic proportions, for example, the latest spikes in covid 19 were in areas where there is a well known Asian population.
Before you jump down my throat. If the connection is there but we're not allowed to say it we are doing those communities a disservice. I don't know if it is just a coincidence or, in fact, it is centred on those groups. Do they know but just can't say it for fear of being branded racist? If it is the case then these communities need to be targeted and educated about the virus. Just to lock down the whole area may not help.

I read this thread and I do watch some of the media. I definitely don't agree with all of it but I want to debate with those who have a different viewpoint to mine. It's why this thread is so popular. I've taken a lot away from it and watched some stuff I wouldn't have seen otherwise.

The loony lefty thread love in lasted about 20 minutes.

A moderator would have a difficult job.

Did you get labelled though Blono? Or did 2 people, of which I was 1, pick up on one post of yours and point out how we received it and why - to be told that was our issue.

My views are pretty central on the political spectrum, this is the only place I have ever been bracketed ‘looney left’ or anything approaching it. Seems a social conscience is a crime these days.

As for the prevalence of Covid among minorities. It’s been discussed on this thread on numerous occasions. I say discussed, what I mean is someone makes a similar statement to you, I point out some of the easily researchable reasons. All then goes a bit quiet.

But here’s a précis, of them:
- genetics/ body type/ immunities that impact on likelihood to catch and become very ill with it. They don’t understand the reasons but it’s clear it’s a factor.
- job roles... far more likely to work in the nhs and other key worker roles, so higher risk of exposure. This is a fact.
- demographic, more likely to be lower income living in cities and in larger family groups, all of which impact opportunity to spread and catch. This is fact.
- cultural/behavioural/religion?

It’s only the last one that people seem to want to pick up on and I personally don’t understand enough about the culture or day to day lives of the millions of individuals we are ‘grouping’ here to pass comment on it.

For the record, I might disagree with your politics but I agree with plenty of what you post on political correctness and other topics. I’m not into labelling and stereotyping, though no doubt I sometimes fail to meet my own standards. There are other posters on here who regularly make comments that are well over the line in my opinion. But it’s a waste of energy to point out the obvious every time.

Having read through some of the recent comments, it looks like some people have found God, or the new decor in this Political dungeon is having a calming effect. I'm sure it'll be different for each individual.

There's quite a bit of debate about the Political thread, so here's my 5 bobs worth.

It's called the Political thread so people can air their political opinions and points of view, comes in handy for debate during the off season, when there's no midweek football, or when crisis occurs like the Covid19 and BLM,Antifa, Cancel Culture mess that's going on right now, irrespective of people's political leanings; we certainly saw it during Brexit.

It's fair to say, even though others have contributed, I'm probably the biggest contributor to the political thread with views and videos. I do this to portray the truth that the MSM won't show or tell people, this is advantageous to the left and right persuasions, although some are just purely left and SJW's irrespective.

We all know the likes of the BBC and other UK msm don't show the truth, only what they want to show, same in America and around the world.

Most of the mods do a great job in Leeds forum, and they do it with impartiality, which is the way it should be, but their jobs are not without obstacles.

Example, when there's content on Political thread that some say they find offensive, derogatory, lies or so called racist, they have to deal with it on it's political merits, and not entwine it with the football side, and they have to put any personal agendas aside, which most do.

Most mods cast a wide net when it comes to judging content on the football side, Political side or the jokes page etc. They understand banter, they understand people are going to argue and use derogatory words to each other, they understand there's different Political leanings, and they do it well however, most also understand if someone's going to make claims, accusations and make up fabrications, then there needs to be substantiated evidence to back up those claims......no evidence, no case.

If the Law of the Land says it's ok for public viewing, the same should apply on any forum or chat programs, irrespective of someone's personal agenda.

The Leeds forum, and most mods recognise the right, and afford everyone the same right to freedom of speech and freedom of expression, that's one of the key elements that make this forum standout, there are exceptions of course. Once you put a limit on freedom of speech and expression, it becomes a socialist dictatorship.

People from all walks of life are on forums and chat programs, some are the same on and off the forum, some are just SJW's, and some pretend to be a lion in sheep's clothing, the mods have to deal with all types of people too. Thing is, those that pretend to be someone they're not cannot keep up the charade for long, their true colours will eventually surface.

Let use a couple of recent examples,

JLA believed there are white supremacists, white privileged, white nationalists, and if we didn't take a knee to BLM we are so called racists, most, including myself disagreed with him, however, the one good point I give to JLA is, he stood his ground and didn't succumb to peer pressure, which he has a right to do, also, those who disagreed with his views, including me, stood by their guns and beliefs as well, which they have a right to do.

Ristac example, not an attack, just an observation.

"The report button needs to be used if anything is racist, the Tommy Robinson ones were removed straight away. I had a look at the knee on the baby’s neck video, it turned my stomach but it seems factual."

Ristac, you claimed the knee on the baby's neck was factual, but you removed TR videos for him being a so called racist, yet you didn't have any substantiating/factual evidence that shows TR has done, or said anything that was so called racist..........isn't that being hypocritical and contradictive?

You also said,

"I’ll be honest, I’d ban all video links on this thread if I had my way. Not because I agree or disagree with any of it, but because I really don’t want to have to watch it and then decide if it borders racist or not.

As a forum moderator the three of us should be checking all the videos that get posted, I look at some but I’ll be honest, I don’t check all of them as it’s tedious."

You're entitled to write your views like everyone else, however,

If the mod role is too tedious for you, why are you doing the job. The position of mod requires you to be fair to everyone, without impartiality.

Let me use another example, chippy asked a question in reply to the video about the BLM supporter holding his knee on a 2 yr olds neck while another held the babies arms behind his back.

Also, everything is defendable. You'll always have people who oppose something, and those who defend it to the hilt, it's how the world is.

"Genuine question.
Would the moderating team stand by if extreme views like these were coming from a left wing fanatic rather than a right wing one? Some of it does seem to go beyond normal political discourse to me"

The black guy in video wasn't right wing, so it's obvious he was referring to me and my so called extreme views going beyond normal political discourse. Chippy is entitled to his views, as am I and everyone else on this forum. What I find personally extreme is, he was only interested in what I wrote and not the abuse of the 2 yr old baby who was crying and obviously in pain.

Personally, I find it sickening that he wasn't interested in the abuse being inflicted on the baby, but they're my views, he's entitled to his, I'm entitled to mine.......Why should anyone be banned for having a right to express their own personal views and opinions, irrespective of leanings and persuasions, as long as they don't go outside of the wide net most mods cast.

I'm sure both Chippy and Ristac would agree with me............The great man himself, God, endowed everyone with the ability to see (even the blind) and he endowed some to be able to see what others don't/can't see......:emoticon-0105-wink:

I am afraid you are a victim of your posting history as I do not look at your videos.
My comments were a general comment possibly more about impartiality than you. The fact you seem to recognise yourself when nobody mentioned you is perhaps a huge tell. Oh and if you are quoting a god you have already lost the argument.
