There is no backstory. Ollie is certainly a gentleman!
To be honest I am disappointed in the club, but that is now history

I hear you Beth but when you look at our away record, cup runs and declining attendances under IH I cannot say that he has been unfairly treated.

He was brought in to steady the ship and has done so.

His record shows that.

But it also shows some pretty big deficiencies as stated above, and for us to progress the Board have decided a 'better' manager is required.

That's life. No one has a divine right to a position just because they are 'QPR through and through'.

I suspect that he didn't like people saying that he was poor at tactics so he over-thought everything trying to prove them wrong.
This led to all the tinkering and line up changes imo.

Dignified by Ollie, will always like the fella, with the resources available I think he did ok and his Dan ****tu comment from many a year ago was a classic. For me I still don't know whether I agree or not with what has gone on, but looking forward to seeing what Stevie Mac can do in the close season and next

There were many lost points through the season, mainly due to IH’s choices.
Our away record was shocking.

There did need to be a change. Hopefully this will be a progressive step and we will see the changes in the areas of coaching, tactics, performance and consistency that we have been desperately in need of.

Didn't want him back - thought that it would end in tears and spoil his rep at the club.
Pleased it has not.
Believe he did a job that should be graded as a B -, brought some stability, whilst wages were being brought down.
Is he limited? - Absolutely. Has he taken 2 previous clubs up to the Prem? - Yes. Has McLaren an obviously more impressive CV for attainment? - No.

Fernandes thinks he has learnt something - he wanted Warnock out immediately after taking over, only the Everton away miracle saved him.
Sentiment got the better of him, no sentiment this time around.

Has he got the right man now? - Don't think so, we have a merry-go-round merchant, the type most seem to despise.
Is Holloway a dignified, honest person, with the very best interests of the club at heart? - Damned right he is.

Do I think this is an inspirational recruitment? ........................ lazy, outdated, easy and without a scintilla of creativity and ambition.

Amazing how you forgive Fernandes so easily - he blew away what is tantamount to all our sporting inheritance - we had the base of a shot at the good life. He blatantly wasted the lot like an alchoholic, heroin and gambling addict attending an alcoholics, heroin and gambling addicts reunion held at Royal Ascot with free bar, free bets and accomodating dealers!!!

I'll be not so eagerly monitoring posts on how his progress is viewed.

Ollie just done quite ok job, no more ,no less. Doing ”quite ok” does not take your club anywhere but just saving from relegation. Thats something i suppose, but i want more from my club than just be upon the relegation battle. During Holloways time we played some terrific home matches but contrast to that we also played more often horrible away matches and catasthropical cup-ties too. Did we ever played two matches in a row with a same line-up? Its not that we had enough quality players to play with rotation system (well perhaps there were some injuries sometimes too but...) . Those are the reasons, that makes the change of the manager quite understandbly imo. Im not expecting to McLaren to be a miracle maker, but im expecting him to be clear upgrade to Hollyway.

Maclaren's 44% win rate says differently imo.
Also, I believe that we would have stayed still with Ollie and that the youngsters would have not been brought on in the way that I believe Steve can.
Time will tell.

He wasn't the right person to take us to the next level..

I certainly didn't enjoy much of his tactics and team selection and on balance am happy with the change but If Holloway had any other sort of job he would be heading for an unfair dismissal tribunal about now. As far as I know the objectives he was set were to steady a sinking ship with no scope for player acquisitions and a massively reduced budget and to bring youth talent into the first team. He delivered on both counts (although he was perhaps a bit slow to bring in the kids). Wouldn't you just love to have been a fly on the wall in the meeting where he was told he was sacked? No wonder he didn't feel up for the appreciation lap at that last home game.

Sincere statement from Ollie & it is a better place than it was thanks to him & club, but it was time for a change & hope he acknowledges that, he’s a loyal man & so are the fans & we all new he’d taken us as far as he could, best wishes to him what ever he gets involved in, gone but not forgotten.
