Reading that it's still a possibility then, they really should pull their fingers out and make a decision though!

Trying to be optimistic, I don't see it necessarily as the death knell for our ambitions. The admittedly brief bit on Page 50 says the stadium "could provide a large-scale catalyst for regeneration that could be a vibrant focal point for the development".

However, to be realistic, if we had been identified as a major player, we would have merited a much longer piece than one paragraph in 166 pages!
 
It's hardly a ringing endorsement though. From the owners assertion that (paraphrasing) 'we will be a central part of this development' we are now little more than a footnote (and listed after Car Giant).
I still hope that this goes ahead of course but am not really very optimistic.
 
Looks like it would be dependent on us finding the land first. We know we won't get it from Cargiant, so we'd have to look to other landowners. Then you'd have to get the plans accepted, but if they are not you can use it to build more flats which is probably more profitable. I'd imagine that the land is now going to be top dollar and there will be plenty of property developers after it.

Money where mouth is time.
 
Unless the plan carves out specific land for a stadium (which it does not) it's a non starter. In the current climate flats and office space will always trump leisure uses and simply suggesting QPR find suitable land to buy in the development area puts us in direct competition with the more profitable options. For me this is a new low point of the last few years of failed expectations as I could have forgiven everything else to see this key long term objective going forward. Childish I know, but I can't help wanting to put a brick through the window of any car with a Car Giant sticker.

Sad thing is Col although i love HQ and its 1000 times better than those soulless kit stadiums (Reading/DerbyBolton) we really do need a new ground. HQ is looking old now (like me) and we need better space/facilities. The match day experience has become cr2p and we are getting left behind.
If TF cocks up the new stadium he should fall on his sword.
 
How well used is the Linford Christie Stadium? That would be a perfect place to buy and build.
Old Oak just seems to me to be something that is not going to happen, and I totally (see what I did there) concur with what Ellers said; we really need a new stadium. Just imagine that we had got hold of the WC Stadium when we should have. We would have a much bigger fan base, real supporters, in a much bigger stadium.
Then we missed and then we missed and then we missed and then we missed and now we are missing...
