Wouldn’t be the first club owners to have a fire sale on their up and coming youngsters, I recall a couple of chancers recently but their names have slipped my mind…

Doubt many clubs will do it the way them two arseholes did!

Birmingham will either sell him for a good to ridiculously good fee given his gave age and experience (his reputationand who his brother is will add a few quid imo) or will keep him and develop him until they get that sort of fee.

Even if they are absolutely skint they can hold out to get a few quid more than we probably would pay! However, if the club looks at it and thinks signing him for a big fee for his age is worth the risk as he will going for typical top end English player fees in a few year it could still fit the model couldn't it? Buy for £10 million now cause he will go for £80 million plus in a fee year? Fees are obviously just plucked out my arse no idea what he would go for now?

In all fairness to Jude 'knowing' locations in Sunderland, Jobe was at the Play Off final and was well known to have been having discussions about coming to SAFC at the time.

With that in mind, and Jude still likely keeping in touch with Dodds and Speakman, it's most likely that they were discussing locations at that time, maybe chatting with players about where they live etc and Barnes and Cleadon came up. Jobe also currently plays with Sanderson who apparently lived around the Barnes area, or he certainly frequented the Esso petrol station by Barnes Park anyway and he may have also had an input. Bellingham's family may well have even had a look around the areas and that's why the names have stuck in Jude's head.

Stretching a little further, we also know how close Jude and Hendo apparently we're at the World Cup, someone else familiar with the areas of Sunderland and a lot of time to chat about all kinds of different things in there down time between games. I'm sure SAFC may well have even came up at some point anyway with Hendo's connection and Jobe nearly signing...

Yeah it may seem a stretch and a little out there, but all kinds of weird and wonderful things happen every day so who knows. Appreciate the info, whatever and wherever it comes from and it all gives us something to chat about as well :emoticon-0100-smile

Hope this does come off, no reason to doubt the poster so hope it comes off. Very exciting prospect and it would make sense allowing Matete to go on loan if a signing was close.
