<peacedove> Another London club on Thursday night, we have only won against Tottenham and West Ham in London this season .This one is a tough
against the league leaders. Any probability of doing Arsenal double this season?, my guess is as good as yours.

The reverse fixture was ironically the one game where it looked like we'd practiced defending set pieces and defending in general.

They sat back, trying to contain us and hit us on the break - the way so many teams do.
We were defending champions and had won our first games, and they were very wary of us that day - they won't be so reticent this time.
They're on a strong run and we're relatively poor, they'll go for it I'm sure.

at least we know that there’ll be space behind their CB’s. We still have enough quality to hurt them, given space. Unfortunately, not much pace but Wirtz could unlock this defence if he sets us up correctly - I doubt he will mind.

We have to score at least once because they will undoubtedly score more than one, probably from set pieces.

On a positive note, they surely won't be sitting in a low block, so I fancy us scoring at least once.

Unfortunately we cannot defend at all, so will probably concede 4.

I am not Slots greatest fan but he’s just the head coach. He needs to coach what he is given to coach. I’m sure that he has some say in who will fit and who doesn’t but I do not believe for a second that he’s completely to blame for the lack of depth.

Will Wright is apparently back from injury. Prob too early to throw him in, but scored 5 for under 21s other day v spurs apparently. Otherwise there is Danns who feel would suit as that in the box striker who can run behind a bit.

but given slot rather play gakpo at CF doubt we’ll see either of them. Maybe if can do something in game v Barnsley might make a statement.

We’ll need someone to lead the line! Hopefully Ekitike is back.

Slot will not use any of the kids, in their correct position, when he can play one of the first team squad out of position instead. Why has Rio been left on the bench in games when we have been crying out for speed and width?

guess it’s a tricky balancing act. Do you throw a kid into a team which is all out of sorts? We’ve seen it when kids play in cup games with other squad players and look poor to average (was it fa cup last year we went out to lower team) and then never get a look in. If they come in, perform poorly along with rest of team can set their confidence back a bit.

CHRIS SUTTON HAS GONE FOR A COMFORTABLE HOME WIN 2:0

Liverpool badly missed Hugo Ekitike in their draw against Fulham, and put in another lacklustre display.

Arne Slot's side are nine games unbeaten now, so their recent results have been all right on paper.

It's their performances that are the problem, though. When you see them with your own eyes, they are miles off where they were when they won the title last season, and are nowhere near where Arsenal are at now either.

When Liverpool beat them at Anfield in August, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was criticised for being too cautious, as he often is in big games like this.

It has to be different this time. This Liverpool team have been leaking goals all season, so Gunners fans are not going to accept Arteta sitting back.

I doubt Arteta will do it this time, because Arsenal are at home and Liverpool are there for the taking.

In fact, there should be zero negativity in the way they are set up. Manchester City have dropped points twice in the past few days, so Arsenal are six points clear. It's just over six years since Arteta took charge, and this is not the time for him to be cautious.

The Gunners should go for it, because they are on a different level to Liverpool, and they may as well be in a different league.

No-one thinks Slot's side are going to win the Premier League anymore, even though they are fourth, and they don't look capable of flexing their muscles and going on a long winning run, either.

That is not going to happen. This is a bang-average Liverpool team this season, and Arsenal should be able to exploit all of their weaknesses.

It should be pretty comfortable for the league leaders too.

They are carrying Viktor Gyokeres a bit, because he has just not fired for them up front, but it does not seem to matter, they are winning anyway.

Declan Rice is just majestic in the middle of the park, he is just phenomenal, and they have got lots of different ways of scoring goals.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Tony's prediction: A win here and Arsenal have the title destiny in their own hands. With their first-choice defence back, I can't see Liverpool getting past Gabriel and William Saliba, so I expect a comfortable night in north London for the champions in waiting.

Gabriel to rise above Virgil van Dijk in the box and grab the first goal. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-2

According to the Premier League title-winning odds, it's never been more likely this season than now that Arsenal will land the outright prize. After Chelsea's late salvo at Manchester City, the 1/4 on offer with Sky Bet on Arsenal for the title is the shortest price they've been all season. Only Arsenal can stop Arsenal now.

For this game the under 2.5 goals line is worth a look at 11/10 with Sky Bet. Mikel Arteta and Arne Slot are cut from a similar cloth. Territory matters. Risk management matters. Neither wants a basketball match

When two managers are this obsessed with control, the game often eats itself. In big games between elite managers of this nature, it often promises drama and delivers tension instead. One goal either way could be enough.

SCORE PREDICTION: 1-0

Lot of controversy over the Wirtz goal but it’s all been caused by Sky who showed the wrong picture of the decision. They showed the 2nd freeze frame when Wirtz is slightly further forward and not the one that VAR used which is the frame before which is what the automated offside picked up and shows him further back in an onside position.

what could possibly go wrong with them in charge :bandit:

If there's one thing age brings - apart from constipation - it's experience. I have enough to realise nothing I say on here has the slightest impact on reality, so a bit of optimism won't hurt.

In reality I think it'll be a tough game, but sometimes we play better when we seem to be up against it. I have no idea how this game will turn out, but I won't really be surprised at any result.

life has taught me to prepare for the worst and then I am really happy when the good things pop up .
