I've said all along that one of the main reasons for our disjointedness was too many newbies - only one outfield player new for this season started tonight, and he was the only one who has slotted in seamlessly.

Much, much better. Controlled that game for the most part. Balance better, pressing better, sharper and hungry. Finally…now limit the tinkering and avoid playing Wirtz in a midfield 3 for now.
The fact you can go from 10th to 3rd in one game pretty much proves that if you're going to have a wobble, early is the best time to do it.
