I remember the look on the Scum players faces as they got off their coach, they were shaken. Truth is they were outplaying us even with 9 players but there was no way we were going to let them score. Games like that are few and far between.

Going back to 1970 we had an FA Cup Quarter Final at home to the Scum, they were a top side then and we did well to lose 2-4 but tremendous atmosphere in a packed HQ. Same old shyte pitch as we gifted them a few...

Happier memories of our League Cup run in 85-86, those nights under the lights in a packed HQ were unbeatable...

In 1976 QPR were playing in Europe. Here is some proof for those who may doubt this

Was at all of these, great, great nights. Sadly didn’t go to any of the away legs - did anyone on here?

Yep, I was at both of those.
I think the Chelsea game was the first time my lads had been to a game against them.
They genuinely couldn't believe that atmosphere.
    They loved it too!
The atmosphere against Wigan was pretty special.

Great nights indeed. Guess which team still holds the overall record for the highest goals per game ratio in European UEFA football competitions? Eat your heart out Real & Barca... <laugh>

My uncle won the signed match ball from the Cologne UEFA cup game in a supporters club draw and sent it over to me.

Wish I still had it, would be worth a fortune <laugh>.

You decided at some point that there wasn’t enough space in the under stairs cupboard and with the ball goes or the hoover?

No, I was a kid at the time and thought it would be a good idea if I kicked the ball around on the street with other kids.

Actually, you’ve reminded me, I had completely forgotten. I had a plastic football, white with black hexagons, signed by the QPR team of the mid 80’s. No idea what happened to it. Maybe there wasn’t enough room in the under stairs cupboard.

Just watching The Big Match Revisited from 1974. - Crystal Palace v Charlton. Terry Venables and Ian Evans playing for Palace, who also have Peter Taylor. Mike Flanagan playing for Charlton, who also have Eamonn Dunphy and Harry Cripps. The good old days.

    Except it's crap.

No, the weather's OK, the other half was in the shower. We're just off for a boat trip on Loch Ness.

Have a lovely time mate. You’ve done well to get away at all. We were looking at finding a cottage where we could take the dog, but the caveats about cancellations depending on tiers etc etc became far too complicated.

Yep went to cologne for the 2nd leg.....bunker off school for a couple of days, travelled on supporters club coach, overnight both ways via zeebruger. Thought it would be so easy when don Masson put us 4-0 Up on aggregate after a couple of minutes, then dear old Dave Clement was sent off and parksey was a one man defence against them, they scored 4 but could easily been 7 or 8 if not for Phil........Stan had a glorious chance in last minute but was kicked off the line by their keeper.......
Cracking good experience and one unlikely to be repeated in my lifetime.......
