thing is Dai,you still haven't given us facts here, the pay as you play was on the swans site, so a fact! Now if he was so crocked he will not be able to turn up for training either! So lets just say that we are not risking a hell of a lot with bodde, virtually all his medical bills would have been insured against , a quick search on google brings up this: http://www.footballclubinsurance.co.uk/professional-sports-insurance So in reality the swans have not outlayed millions in wages on this guy, and will not in the next year, no matter how much he plays, so its a win win situation for both club and player
jager show some intelligents man. you dont actually think bodde would go to the club with his team mates for work and not get paid.....would you...would anybody.....he gets his basic wage...
Dai tell me have you seen his contract then ? You are speculating with this as you don't know what's on it, I state what is on the club site, you state your guess work, sorry you or I are not privy to what it says on contracts, and should just leave it to the club as they know what's on there. Besides as I mentioned there is next to nothing risk wise in regards to this, if it goes wrong he retires, he gets a huge pay off from the insurance, he gets a pay off probably from us of some description, and gets something from the PFA , then he gets his pension. If he returns we get a great player, so we win on the pitch if he is fit, if not we would have lost a great player to which I will be sad!
He is getting paid a basic wage. He gets bonuses for playing etc.. Let me help the people on here to take their rose tinted specs off. I was talking to someone today and he told me that he would be surprised if Bodde played another competetive game for the Swans Unfortunately football isn't charity and as a result of his knee, we now need another central Midfielder IMO. Let's retire him off and try and get someone in who's going to play and help keep our premiership status. I won't apologise for the realism in my post but I'd rather we stay up with the help of another (fit) midfielder than go down through the lack of depth in the midfield because were carrying a player who's not going to play.
ok, here is a quote from a football contract website . "What is meant by a pay as you play deal? Under a pay as you play deal the player will be contracted to the club for a certain amount of time under a standard FA Premier League contract. The only difference to the make-up of that player’s contract than other players in the team is that player will be paid when he makes an appearance for the club. Often the player will be on a very low base salary and has the option of increasing that by working hard and making appearances on the pitch. i think this clears it up RE him not getting paid!! here is the link for the website ; http://www.inbrief.co.uk/football-law/pay-as-you-play.htm Big fat prop- i think your post is pretty much bang on , what people are forgetting is that even if he is fit to play it would take him almost 1-2 yrs of constant football to reach his high level again. and playing in the prem league after so long out would IMO be almost impossible. rose tinted specs indeed
Is your friend treating bodde then? It's just speculation, really let's just wait until the club puts a statement on this, the club has obligations and they cant just retire him out, I think the insurance company will have words on this also. Let's just see what transpires next
Think we can all see it's looking pretty difficult to see Ferrie featuring in ANY game soon!! But even so, think 'llI trust our club to make the right decisions on Ferrie, not any fans on here....
Not treating him no. But works for SCFC. You won't have to wait that long for the statement your after. For what it's worth lads, I'd love to see him back in the side. It's just not going to happen
Well if it happens it will be sad, but as I said instead of all the speculation let's just wait for the club to issue a statement, I take everything with a pinch of salt until it's officially announced on the club site or through a press release.
Don't think people are looking through rose tinted specs. Think you should give fellow Swans fans more credit than that!! It's the recognition of realising, whatever happens to him, we had such a fine talent on our books... If and when it comes, it'll be a horrible day. Still praying we don't have to face it though!!
But some are looking through them. Look at his record and look at his latest comeback! Funny how the club (and Ferrie) say he was only taken off because his hamstrings were tight and then we haven't seen him since. I don't think we'll need to ring Miss Marple to explain that one! Anyway, as Jager says.....let's wait for the (inevitable) statement from the club rather than arguing over it.
cmon its rose tinted specs! almost like the trundle syndrome all over again! i think its fair to say that alot of swans fans are dreaming of ferrie coming back like he just had a minor calf strain ! there are of course many level headed jacks who wish he can come back but understand just how difficult its going to be to return to former glorys, if at all. we all want him back ,but even if he gets over his injury will he ever get back to his high level again? prem football is the absolute highest level of league football and ferrie IMO could not compete there straight away . he would need games at a lower level just to build confidence mentally and physically ,im sure brenden rodgers knows this and he also knows how much cult status ferrie has at the club. i think if it was another player then he would have been done away with , lets be honest here, we dont really think bodde is going to return from 3yrs out and run the show in midfield against opposition premier players do we ?? at best its going to be a long hard road to play competative football at all ,let alone play prem football , ferrie is being made a special case because he is a hero and holds cult status . lets hope im wrong though eh!! we all dream about ferrie coming back and we are all guilty of wearing the rose tinted specs at sometime or another, nothing wrong with it but its looking more like a pipe dream for every week/game that passes him by
It's not rose tinted glasses here, if he's done for so be it, but there has been nothing from the club, and until there is we shouldn't be talking about the guy as if he is an unwanted pet, the guy done his knee in playing for us, we have an obligation of care for him, whether it's to playing the game, or it's to tell that time is up! He will know himself whether that time is here, but as I said that boro captain we are supposedly interested in had 4 ops to get his knee right, the phrase from one of their fans is that he runs the show for them, go and buy someone else, that is how important he is to them! Now unless the quacks say time is up, to which they could have said, let's wait and hear officially guys.
He's a special talent who's still our player & until it's officially announced he's finished, you can't blame Swans' fans for hoping beyond belief that we can have him back. We saw & experienced some special moments from him, but every Swans' fan would probably admit they thought there was far more to come from this talent. It's that belief we had in him as our player, that we've constantly hoped he's going to return. We all now he was hardly ever going to return to the standard he was, especially after 2 further breakdowns & that was at a standard of our 1st season in the Championship. No matter how we've progressed in the following two seasons there, before hitting the big time!! It was always going to be a big ask for him. But when there was always a chance he could come back & you could envisage him fulfilling the promise he always showed, you can't help but give him all the time that was needed. Naff all to do with rose tinted specs........
well said bigfatprop, people like jager will argue that black is white and lets be fair here he dont sound that bright with his comments, when he is obviously losing the plot he reverts to the old LETS SEE THE PROOF he ignores logic and tries to come back with idiotic comments, i bet he throws a tantrum if he loses at cards with someone. get a grip jager your not right all the time......bodde gets no wages my arse..
Dai let's be honest here, you are the one losing the plot here, you resort to personal insults when people disagree with you, the person who needs to get a grip is yourself, you are so sure of yourself that you place your opinion as fact, I use the swans official website to base my arguments from, you use your own spin to base yours on, now if you come back with facts well done you! But we are still waiting for facts about pratley going to forest from you, Jenkins withholding millions, and of course the fact that we should spend £40m on wages this year, also that we will never get to the premier league with tightwad Jenkins Now when you come back try answering the facts that you sprout, not having a go at you dai, but you have been proved wrong many many times, and it's funny how you have largely shut up about Jenkins now !
Here are the facts Dai. Bodde is paid NOTHING by the club unless he plays. He receives no base line pay as things stand. There is probably a clause whereby once he plays x games/minutes he starts receiving again but at the moment all he is costing the club is time. Personally I think we should keep him in a dual role, why not have him training the kids (and paid for it) while doing his physio for instance?
Sorry Dai, but how can someone say on numerous occasions "I'm a realist" or "I only deal in facts" then when someone asks for proff you're quite happy to dismiss their request? Also, there's no need to suggest someone isn't "bright" or to show some "intelligents" then make large comments that lack any "bright" input or show any real signs of INTELLIGENCE. The amount of contradiction is incredible. So to end it all someone please post the link suggesting Boddes career is finished. P.s. I'm like the rest of you, I want to see Bodde back in action but that may never happen. I'm just not prepared to accept it without actually hearing from the people in the know!
