I think Hill will be rested soon and it will be up to OO to keep the place. We shouldnt play Hill and Dunne together is possible.

Clint Hill has been replaced so many times over the last couple of seasons it is ridiculous, but there he still is, leading the team out onto the pitch every week. I understand your reservations about playing Hill and Dunne, but this guy will have to be special to keep Hill out of the first team.

Oguchialu Chijioke "Oguchi" Onyewu, also known as "Gooch". Seems like a decent fella:

"Onyewu missed all the 2009–10 season – appearing in only one Champions League match – due a knee injury suffered while on national team duty. At the end of the season, on May 17, 2010, it was announced that Onyewu's contract with Milan was extended by one season, keeping him under contract with the club until the end of the 2012–13 season; upon Onyewu's request, the one-year extension included no salary"

Goooooch!

Actually according to club website it should be ‘Guchi’, instead of "Gooch"

Agree, but having 2 "elderly" slowish CBs is not ideal, cant imagine there would be too many on here, that would not want Clint, running out every week.

But isnt it better, to keep both Clint and Dunne fresh, with a more mobile alternative.

But, yes agree (and here's hoping) that he is special - well pretty good !!

Nothing to say he's going to walk into the team. I see him as much-needed cover.

I said from the start Hill and Dunne shouldnt play together, they are both very old and the likelyhood of both staying fit for the whole season is slim. We should always only play one if possible and a quicker player to cover them.

I know its not a choice to play them together but now we have an alternative, we should use him to keep the OAPs fresh!

6'5 !! Bloody hell, what a lump. I'm quite excited by this one, he has a fairly glamorous list of clubs "played for" on Wikipedia. Schteve must have recommended him after his loan at Twente?

Do we know any contract details yet? A year long one would be just the job.

We've just added one hell of a long throw to our attack too. @1.57

Many thanks for all the good info Nines! A quick cb is exactly what we need. He's a well qualified cb at least!

Thanks for video Grifter, my oh my, he looks good.

Long throws ?? eat your heart out,... Rory

Problem is he cant take the long throw, AND get his big noggin on it.....damn <rofl>

I have met Oguchi and he is a good hard working lad. Injury problems has meant he has never been the same, but a great ambassador for the future of the game, and worth hanging onto for after retirement in a coaching role I think... Always had a great amount of respect for a player who did something I've not heard of before, which is play for free because he collected a salary the previous year when he was injured. Good luck to him!

Thanks for that Rhino2 (we already have a BushRhino here, popular beast). Are you really a 25 year old head teacher? Well done if yes, but there is something disquieting about that for us old fogeys. Slipper or cane man?
