He's really driving like he's got something to prove.

I must admit I'm kind of impressed. We're only 1½ hours in and we have no idea what 'the pace' is today, not having seen Button or Webber, or even knowing what the other teams are trying out compared to Lotus, but it's still impressive that he's appears to be right on it. Of course, raw speed was never something Raikkonen struggled with...

true, Raikkonen held the record for most fastest laps in a season didnt he? (dont know if Vettel stole that last year). but it also looks like Kimi's laps today have been very consistant too. Very encouraging.

This could be interesting.

"There is a certain amount of anxiety among fans of McLaren that their car is the only one so far not to feature a stepped 'platypus' nose. There is a rumour going around that this is all part of a cunning plan. The lower nose regulation was originally planned for 2011, but was delayed by a year. The rumour goes that McLaren built their 2011 chassis and crash structure to conform to the stepped nose regs and were effectively running it all last year - which would make McLaren months ahead of their rivals in optimising the aerodynamics of the new rules. I ran this by an experienced F1 engineer, and the response was: 'Sounds like a good story to cover up a bit of a screw-up.' Time will tell."

El Bando, I think Raikkonen actually hilds that record twice with 10 in 2005 and again in 2008, I think thats right off the top of my head

I think Vettel hardly got any last year and Webber actually beat him on that count

Lol Raikkonen has gotten 10 fastest laps in a season (I think he did it twice as well) but Vettel has never gotten more than 3 in a season.

Interesting ninja, I thought he would have got more in 2010 as he was obseesed with fastest laps - still I guess he had more competition that year
