Surely they'd be better off going for a twin tailpipe arrangement, split equally either side of the centre line of the rear wing, but at the same height so that the chances of teams exploiting it for aero are still minimised?
Okay so packaging will be tight to split it after the turbo, but surely that will create more noise or at least engineered to give a bit more of a rasp as the exhaust gases has to wind it's way around the curves of the exhaust?
A bit like this I suppose, though I appreciate the turbo is a bit further back in the car now so it would have to have quite tight curves to achieve this.
