Fulham will be forced to host their Premier League clash with Liverpool after the tube strikes in London were reportedly suspended.

The Cottagers were keen to postpone Wednesday’s meeting to help fans avoid transport issues, but also allegedly to allow players extra time to recover from Sunday’s monumental shift at Manchester United.

However, the strikes, which were scheduled to begin at 9pm tonight, have now reportedly been shelved after the TSSA union reached a deal with London Underground over ticket office closures.

For the strike to be called off entirely, the RMT union would also have to suspend its planned walkout.

The RMT executive is expected to meet this afternoon to discuss its response, but the TSSA tweeted that the union had also suspended its strike.

One union has suspended its 48-hour Tube strike action after reaching a deal with London Underground (LU) over ticket office closures.

TSSA members will now no longer take the industrial action, which was due to start at 21:00 GMT.

The union has tweeted that the RMT has also called off the strike. However, the RMT has not confirmed this.

Talks took place at conciliation service Acas following a 48-hour strike last week that caused major disruption.

A TSSA spokesman said: "We have now agreed a process where all our serious concerns over safety and job losses will be seriously addressed through the normal channels.

"We are obviously pleased that we have agreed this process, which will allow us to suspend our strike immediately, and cancel it later when the agreement reaches us in a formal document."
'Positive response'

In a statement, Acas said Tube bosses would be writing to the unions with proposals to end the dispute.

"We are hopeful of a positive response so that the proposed industrial action will be withdrawn," it added.

Transport for London (TfL) has published a list of which services it hopes to run should the RMT decide to go ahead with the strike.

Trains will run between 07:00 and 23:00, although services will start to wind down at 21:30.

Talks between the unions and LU have been taking place at Acas for 11 days.

The dispute centres on plans to close all Tube ticket offices and cut 960 jobs. TfL has claimed its proposals - which do not involve compulsory redundancies - would save £50m a year.
