Even in some of most famous great escape seasons - eg us in 98-99, Wigan in 07-08, Sunderland in 13-14, Leicester in 14-15 - you're looking at them having 9 or 10 points after 16 games.

I appreciate that the margins are small, and that we could so easily have been in that 9 to 10 point range ourselves. But we're not. And nor are we finishing anywhere other than 20th.

Bah humbug.

Boooooooo :1980_boogie_down:

I would love to see us being competitive in the next few games but I would also like us to have some luck that isn’t preceded by the word BAD.
I was loosely watching the Luton v Derby game last night and it was 0-1 to Derby in the 89th minute. Two deflected shots later Luton walk off 2-1 winners.
Have we had a deflected goal in our favour this season?
I know we have had a couple, maybe more, against.

You need to shoot to get deflected goals...

Really looking like this could be a great no risk appointment.

We're all ready down, that's 95% nailed on. With this guy could our 5% chance move up to maybe 10? Either way he's not some no mark from a mid sized championship club.

If he pisses the players off, then quite frankly good. They've been ****ing coasting all season with their best pal Russ. If he pisses off the board, also good. They've sat around with their thumb up their arses for too long. It's about time we had a right nasty twat in charge.

I would ****ing love it if he comes in and absolutely beasts them for phys, if he knocks off Xmas piss ups and multiple days off. I'd love it if he sets us up to be committing fouls to stop attacks. To get opposing players sent off. We're weak. The team is weak, the board is weak. Change it up and we'll love the mad **** forever. Just have a ****ing go and make the lads give 100% and give us our pride back.

Absolutely Spot On! The players have been far too pally with RM all season either that or they've too weak to say anything about the suicide football being produced.
I think the whole team is mentally weak and needs a strong manager to kick some of them in the balls and scream at them a little bit, too soft by far, physically unfit by a country mile and we're so nice - PUKE! We lack any gumption whatsoever and at times, when we needed to throw the kitchen sink at a team to try and at least get a draw, we seemed quite content to play tippy tappy in our own half whilst RM grinned like a moronic Cheshire cat loving his possession experiment.
Like Lincs says - before we had zero chance of staying up with RM at the helm plus a distinct possibility of "beating" Derby's record of worst Prem side ever, at least with this new guy ( fingers crossed ) we're going to play with some passion, spirit and fight, and ultimately that's all you can ask of them.
In all likelihood we are relegated but I want to see them ( the team ) swinging from the rafters and flailing like wild banshees fighting tooth and nail at the indignity of going down, not a sad little whimper but a great big bang!!

Agreed but I think he’ll be demanding that we’re very competitive in all remaining games?

Not a deflected shot but had a stroke of luck with a deflection leading to the Archer goal on Wednesday night.
