    Not surprised no Elliot Ward if i'm honest. I personally think he's the 6th best centre back in the squad. If we really get 3 centre back injuries I personally would rather see Russy play and hopefully whittaker to play right back. Need to keep all our options going forward to mix things up!

    As far as I'm aware, and I'm usually wrong in these matters, we're allowed two UK based loans a season, so Garrido won't count towards that

    Not sure how our loan thing works, even if were aloud to bring someone else in it will have to wait till Jan and then that will mean someone else will need to drop out! Doesn't suprise me with ward missing out as he is expected to go out on loan.

    This also means no Heskey for us as we as full at 25

    Interesting if you see some of the other clubs like everton and Sunderland have less than 20 squad members (but lots of u21s)

    Stay up or not, at the end of this season id say if we can replace C.Martin and Lappin (sorry, im happy for him to be here this year cus I love his work ethic but if we can afford to get someone better we should next year), providing we keep the others, our squad would be pretty well complete! Id perhaps,add a Morison to the list if we stay up but im willing to give him the benefit considering how good he was at start of last season.

    Its looking good for us as they gel more!

    I feel bad for Ward because he seems to have been made a scapegoat when really it was the system we played that kept getting him into trouble.

    Pleased for Barnet as I was a big fan of his in the promotion season. I'm still betting Benett will eventually be playing with Bassong by the end of the season as that boy shows alot of class at times. His positioning is superb.

    agree. ward has been harshly treated by some fans although i'm not sure we can level that at hughton who has seen him in training and pre-season and felt he'd be better off out on loan playing games. i like elliott, i've met him a few times and he's a great guy, and he's never been as bad as some would have you believe. he'll have accepted this decision and will look to move on and i'm sure if he impresses there will be a route back to the team for him. not many of us would have said barnett would have stayed this summer, let alone be starting games, so its nice to see that there is always a route back for a player if he digs in. we've never heard barnett moan about his situation, not once and same goes for ward - these are good players but great professionals. i think they've both deserved a little more respect from some fans <ok>

    Tough on Ward on several counts. We haven't really seen a lot from Michael Turner so far. One terrific PL season at Hull, and popular with Sunderland fans for his guts, no nonsense defending and willingness. Hope Wardy gets a good opening elsewhere.

    Hope so. We owe Wardy a lot. I hate the way some people only ever seem to notice the negatives.

    My apologies to everyone incidentally for originally posting the wrong list. Jumped the gun and paid the price, but the mystery of the disappearing Bunn was too intriguing to ignore! <laugh>

    Can't believe some of you thought the king of Spain was out? How can we get rid of our joint top goalscorer!?

    If only Ward could have been loaned to Forrest, then Ayala could have rekindled their partnership from last season, that would have been win-win for us, however I think I am correct that Hutchinson (Chelsea RB) is the 2nd loanee

    <steam>

    Think a good run of games for Ward will be a good thing, he really just needs to play regularly, who knows what the future at NCFC holds for him, I for one am a fan (always committed, gives 100%, solid if not spectcular, reliable back-up).

    ...................who is hutchinson. can find no mention of him on the chelsea web site so assume he is not that well thought of. must also be under 21 as we have a full squad.

    The big danger is Nolan rather than either of those two. We need to keep their midfield occupied in their own half of the field.
