I think I’ve seen enough at this point to say...

Arteta is not going to work out. I think it’s time we start thinking about who would take over from him.

sacking him or not, not sure what the right decision is there. But my point is I don’t think he will be at Arsenal long term, he’s just not getting enough out of this team.

I don't know who we'd replace him with that would offer us any genuine hope of anything better though.

Nagelsmann seems very niche and a fit for Leipzig. Big young gamble and we've already got one of those in place.

Tuchel is no better than Emery.

Allegri and Simeone can't even speak English.

Rodgers?! Nuno??!!

All a bit depressing. We're ****e and I can't even see any available hope.

Worst opening 10 games to a season for almost 40 years. Jeez. And to think we won our first two with a GD of +4!

Makes you realise how ****e the next 8 were.

I don’t think we would sack him until the end of the season anyway. Someone earlier said it and I agree - we kept emery 2 months too long, and I think we will keep Arteta 4 months too long this time.

I think a proven experienced manager is what we need.

One could also say “the players are the problem”.

And while I think that’s partially true, (I mean I predicted we would finish outside the top 4 this season), I really do believe a manager should get more out of this team - were currently 14th...

To be fair I think emery’s biggest problem was communication, not that he was a bad manager.

I will say I think we were even worse during the end of Emery’s reign though.

Yeah I felt that but we weren't. We lost away at SHU and Leic which brought the end but the rest was a load of draws.

Arteta has given us direction by managing to convert draws into losses. Its all just a shame which direction it is we're still going <laugh>

Do you think auba should be benched????

He looked off today.. Body language touches movent with the ball out side the box..

Benching him may be a wake up call..

Don't remember things getting this bad under Wenger or Emery.
Not looking good for Arteta but I have a little sympathy for him as players who he could rely on before, such as Aubameyang, are not producing at all.
In fact Auba looks very disinterested since he signed his new mega contract and doesn't warrant a place in the team every week just because of past performances.
We badly need a world class striker like the top teams have, someone who can put it about a bit and is razor sharp in the box.
In spite of what people were saying, on todays showing it looks like Cavani was a good bit of business for Man U as long as he stays fit.

Some people speculating that these bad performances are in reaction to whatever is happening with ozil.

not sure if I necessarily buy it; but possibly something to keep in mind? Players downing tools because of that?

Realistically, I predict arteta will be given to the end of the season - no matter what.

for me, if he finishes outside the top 8 at that point, I would sack him in the summer - citing no improvement.

We have Auba, who has scored tons for us and is one of the best forwards in the world, but because he's had a 9 game poor run coinciding with the whole team being ****e you think we need to sign a world class striker like Cavani based on ONE game and the fact he scored 2 goals against Southampton? Give over.

I think he should get benched... Let the kids start..

These players have let down 3 different managers now. Going 8 hours without a goal in open play and losing 3 consecutive home games is inexcusable, though. Our players aren't that good, but I can't defend this. That said, I remain convinced that until most of these freeloaders and perennial disappointments leave, any other manager we get will struggle beyond an initial honeymoon phase.

The rebuild we require is gigantic, yet we have two rookies in charge (Edu and Arteta) overseeing it. I'm questioning whether either of them are up to it. My gut feeling is telling me they're not.

I'm in two minds.

I like Arteta and feel that he is soo inexperinced that he will get better over time. He needs time to develope his own team and get better at putting his ideas across. He also needs to make mistakes to learn from them.

On the other hand...
