Our next two games are Liverpool and Spurs, so it was highly important to get maximum points from our opening two games.
Neither performance was great, but given the absentees we had and players lacking match fitness, I don't really care so long as we're winning. I expect the performances to improve after the international break.
I thought Burnley's tactics actually worked quite well for the most part. They were pressing us high up the pitch and were closing down the passing lanes every time we tried to build out from the back. They made it a very physical, aerial contest, as you would expect, but to be fair, I thought we rose to the challenge and didn't let them bully us. They made it a cagey affair which, thankfully, we were able to win.
Ashley Barnes is always a pain the backside, and despite his goal (which was a result of a deflected cross, although Luiz/Guendouzi should have done better), he was well marshalled.
Ceballos had an unbelievable game. His close control, nimble feet and ball retention are so reminiscent of Cazorla. What a player he is. Shame it's only for a year. If he continues to play like that, and Madrid continue their habit of big-name signings, I hope they will be kind enough to give him to us permanently.
Willock had another industrious display. I really like how intelligently he recycles possession and the fact he is never afraid to get stuck in. Always looks to drive forward when he gets the ball, too. He's got an incredible future ahead of him.
You can never fault Guendouzi's work-rate, but my one gripe with him is he takes too long on the ball. If we want to play a fluid attacking game, releasing the ball early and pushing forward is essential. It's something he needs to work on.
Nelson had a quiet game by his standards. Unlucky with the offside goal, but didn't offer much.
Monreal and AMN were fairly solid.
Glad to see both Auba and Laca scoring, but I am hoping we will get goals from other sources, as we can't rely on these two to always bail us out.
Good start, let's hope for a good display against Liverpool. So long as we don't get annihilated, I will be satisfied with a competitive display.
