Brilliant performance from Martinelli again and another two goals. This lad looks like a really promising prospect. He's strong, quick and has a great eye for goal.

More good performances from from Willock and Nelson too. And great to see Bellerin and Tierney at fullback getting up the pitch and more importantly knowing how to defend.

Another 4 goals from the Kids, that's 9 in two games for the young players <ok>

Martinelli was brilliant - showed lots of skill, a real ability to be in the right place to get opportunities to score, proper fight and hunger. I’d love to see him push for a regular place. He should be closer to the first team than Nelson based on that performance.

Ceballos ran the show though. Everything went through him. I really hope we do well enough this season that we can convince him to stay. He’s our new Cazorla.

Pepe still looked like he couldn’t make anything happen, looks like he’s playing under pressure. Give him a couple of games break and work him back into the team.

Holding was commanding, Tierney looks a fantastic signing and it’s so good to see Bellerin back.

Top class performance, great desire, commitment and maturity!

Scoreline flattered Liege, only negative it could and should have been 7 or 8 - 0!

Shout out's to Martinelli, Tierney and Ceballos..great team performance

I think Nelson was been underwhelming tbh. He’s not a bad player but seems well off first team football to me. Willock, Saka and Martinelli have shown more promise I think.

Nelson played really well tonight mate, he was involved in everything down our left side.

He was alright, he just doesn’t look the level of the other youngsters. Had a couple of good dribbles and decent balls into the box but doesn’t seem to have the same impact as the others imo.

Think he’s been a bit average in a couple of games this season before tonight too. Not his fault, just think he’s not quite ready. I’d loan him out in January.

Martinelli looked absolutely class again today.

Holding is a calming presence for the team he looks assured even off the back of an ACL injury.

Was also great to see Bellerin and Tierney out there. (both played well)

What I also loved was how the players always back each other. When Martinelli was fouled petulantly in the dying moments of the game, and the Liege player tried talking **** to him as he was clutching his ankle, Tierney, Bellerin, Guendouzi etc all piled in to stick up for Martinelli. Like they weren't going to tolerate that behaviour or be bullied. I know we got a yellow card or two for that, but it really shows how together this crop of players are. Was great to see some aggression.

We've got a great crop of youngsters coming through

Holding
Tierney
Maitland-Niles
Willock
Smith-Rowe
Nelson
Saka
Martinelli
Nketiah

We did try to keep Gnabry but he didn’t sign a contract so left for free - if you recall correctly

Should have Malen, Gnabry and Reine-Adelaide in that list too :(
To be fair the youth structure looks alot better these days. Ljungberg seems to be doing a great job. Even Emery to his credit his giving these players a chance.

Its funny to think back that we let guys like Gnabry leave the Club but persevered with the likes of Bendtner.

Its rare you see a pro with a 50p head, a 50p left foot and a 50p right foot.
