I worked on the doors for 11 years and got every insult known to man flung at me, I laughed them all off and got on with everyone.
I clouted 2 people in over a decade, working 5 nights a week .......... I'm proud of that tbh.
This place is like a ****ing kindergarten at times.

Nee offence but I fcuking hate doormen. No better feeling than turning the tables on them fat headed water bottles...
I have to say that 95% of the lads I worked with were gentlemen who did their utmost to ensure that the majority of people had a good time and stopped the nasty minority from spoiling it.
They found taxis for stranded punters, performed first aid, reunited the lost and loaned people money to get home.
However, the people who were pissed and up for trouble were sorted out quickly despite every single one of the ****ers claiming they'd 'done nowt'.
Smugs a smug twat alright but probably one of the most genuine lads you could ever meet. He's a forum scoundrel like Kenneth Williams without the camp but he really is one hell of a great lad..
I didn't mention, but should have. The old school doorman, like yourself, we're generally fine and done as you stated. It's the new lot, young lads doing it for the rep and try throwing their weight about that really boil my piss... Half of them are only students ffs.
