I feel for her parents. My daughter is 16 & in a band, it can happen to anyone in the rock & roll lifestyle. Amy is out of her misery now like.
Yes RIP, another great talent lost, I just hope she was afforded the dignity of going to sleep last night & dying peacefully, its' always tragic when a young life is lost
Yes, RIP, it's always sad when a young life is lost, no matter what the circumstances, it's sad to see a potentially great talent being lost as well, I only hope Amy was afforded the dignity of simply going to bed last night & dying peacefully in her sleep
It's been a day which for me has put footbal and football rivalries into perspective...Yes, I'm sad that the inevitable has happened regarding Amy Winehouse, but the events in Norway are truly shocking, and I can't even begin to imagine the anguish the parents, families and friends of all these people are going through.
That's the music industry for you. I worked with one of her engineers earlier this year and after what he told me I am not surprised by this at all. Unfortunately the majority of the people in the business think its fine to take drugs (cool in fact) and nothing will ever happen to you. They glorify people like Ozzy Osborne who has survived daily alcohol and drug abuse. Its the culture of the industry. The bottom line is if you abuse substances you will die. The sooner the press stop glorifying it the better. I would make an example of her so that other young kids getting into the business realise its not ok or normal to be drinking and abusing substances every day and it will have a physical and even worse permanent mental effect on you. I have seen it so many times I am afraid. She is not the first and she will not be the last.
As sad as any young persons death is, I cant help feel somewhat less sympathetic towards an individual that self inflicts injury or death on themselves by the misuse of well documented dangerous substances. If that person wishes to play Russian roulette with their lives then so be it. I cant imagine that Pete Doherty will be far behind Amy Winehouse and I'll have the same ambivalence towards his death as I do this one. I am far more moved and deeply hurt by the events in Norway, where over 100 innocent people have lost their lives with the actions of one individual cowardly act of utter destruction. I grieve for those losses with a deep heavy heart and my thoughts go out to their unfortunate mothers and fathers who will wake up today and for the rest of their lives in total misery and heartache. Thats a real tragedy. The Amy Winehouse's of this world are wholly preventable deaths. The Norwegian ones are not.
You get a lot of arguments against your posts but I, for one, would find it hard to argue against this one.
