What none of them were able to figure out and the evidence was there all along if they bothered to look was simply this. That the Sunderland Association Football Club of the 2025/2026 season and the three seasons before that was a completely different animal to the one they so desperately wanted to think it was.
None of them took any notice of what was going on behind the scenes. They all thought that their little ‘profound’ soundbites were the last word. They didn’t understand that the KLD ownership group understood the heartbeat of the club, the city, the people, the support. Even last season with the ‘training games’ once we had secured the play off spot. Dan Ballards last second goal against Coventry City. The til the end attitude in the semi final or the final. None of them saw or for that matter wanted to see the change in mindset that had become the overarching ethos of everyone involved at the club from the very bottom to the very top.
So I’ll just say this to them and I make no apologies for saying it. **** right off you bunch of sanctimonious arseholes.

Good points made here mate!

They all thought one of two things they were getting the Sunderland of old! No idea and even less aptitiude to pull it off even if they did have one.

Or and this is whats gets me and what I think they all thought: The team that went up in the playoffs would be the same starting 11 with no attempt to sign anyone to improve the squad! Its because its what the pundits etc.. like to see 3 up 3 down, let your Wolves, West Ham and Spurs not have any relegation worries despite being ****e all season because the promoted 3 have stank the place out. So glad Leeds and ourselves stuck 2 fingers up and showed them what happens when you don't buy into the defeatist ****e they pedal!

And the worst of it is that they believe they’re being so profound and that what they say actually matters …

… in reality they could all quit and it wouldn’t make the slightest difference.

Shearer believes that his words and opinions actually affect the clubs he’s talking about, if that was true Newcastle wouldn’t have finished in the bottom half losing both derbies. He once even truly believed his inspiration would save Newcastle …

… he inspired them to one win in eight games and relegated them <laugh>

Thanks for posting that video mate, it’s lovely viewing. He’s completely self-obsessed as always.

Interesting financial data from the Times which really hits home how well we’ve done.

I do wonder how accurate wage data is as it feels unlikely we’re lowest given the summer we had. Either way though, it bodes well for another big transfer window.

Done some class work these lads but hats off to the club for doing it properly. Going to an outside agency of lads fans who understand the city its people and its club!
This perfectly illustrates how KLD and the club operates, engage the very best people in all aspects of the club, from backroom, coaching, support, marketing, scouting, DOF, players, commercial and finance and success will follow. SIMPLES

Just the ticketing department to sort!

The full article. Anyone got access to the latter half? I don’t have a substack account.

Interesting how Leeds match day revenue more than twice ours despite having smaller crowds.
In fact even Bristol City way ahead of us :emoticon-0104-surpr

Like he had the ball under a spell and still not far off in that clip!

Could he not be arsed? I remember him being unreal in his day?
Aye but he had a short span cos he liked to party and didn’t stay elite long term.

Mesmerising to watch and with the biggest smile on his face doing it.

Phenomenal he was.

He was playing from Gremio and Brazil from the age of 17.
Aye, and he played till was 34, what I am saying is he only had a small number of years when he was really elite compared to the likes a Zidane or Ronaldo.

Not skating the lad here by the way he is literally my favourite player ever.
