There'll be many who are involved with grass roots football with coaching badges as it's a pre requisite. Certainly for the Hull and District.

    Loved this season like crazy.
Felt even more like I am stuck in 1971

    With dress style
    Music style
    And now footy experience style

    Roll on next season

I'm club secretary of my grandson's football team, and I get more enjoyment when home going and watching him as I do going to City these days. I have to say that it is a nightmare keeping up with all the FA regulations and safeguard modules and the like, but it keeps me busy.

As you know you have to have a certain number of qualified coaches for each age group

This sums up modern football for me, absolutely embarrassing.

Enjoy it while it lasts. My lad played his last game for Ferriby a week ago and I’m glad I don’t have to put up with going anymore.

At under 16 level the abuse and constant haranguing of the ref is a disgrace. From parents, coaches and players.

Every decision is questioned and his last game summed up how the game has gone.

Example; the ball clearly came off the enemy defender and goes for a throw in. There was nobody near him. He immediately raises his hand and appeals for the throw in.
Ref gives the decision against him and he has a tantrum, shaking his head, waving his arms about and muttering obscenities.
Me and my mate are stood 10 feet away and my mate asks him why he even appealed it.

    His response, “Why not?”

I then said, “It’s pathetic son”

He then , whilst running away, called me some choice names whilst saying he didn’t have to take **** off the likes of me.

Some of the coaches, not all but I’d say the majority, encourage this bollocks and it’s disgraceful.

Year on year it got worse to the point where it became embarrassing .

I’m glad I’m out of it.

I’ve just about lost all interest in football but will make an effort for the World Cup.

My lad isn’t even bothered with that and he was football daft a few years ago.

I feel the same about football. I want to love it but I just don't.

Its the first season I've not been to a single game and have only watched 10 minutes of match of the day over the whole season

This post pretty much sums it up for me.

Coached one team all the way through to U16/17, but packed up last year.

Opposition team subs sat / laid on the touch line, where I was so asked them to move back, so I didn't trip or fall on them. Nothing said, but the cheekiest little twat then starts stepping 3 or 4 feet on to the pitch in front of me, having the ball passed to him by the other subs / mates etc..

Asked their coach to have a word. He does, then little twats gobby mum comes over offing and jeffing. Stops for a while.

Second half, linesman (young lad of 19 or 20) asks them to move back. They don't, gets ref to have a word. Gobby twats dad this time comes over having a go at the ref and linesman, whilst gobby mum is back in my face.

And I get to the point, where despite being really proud of my lot going on to mens Sat / Sun teams, I just can't be ****ing arsed to get involved again.

It's all the ALLAMS OUT !!! fault.

As a PS, I coached a bit of rugby years ago as well, and despite them being some serious head cases, there was a respect to players / coaches and refs. Don't know what youth rugby is like nowadays.

It does concern me when they get older. There's a general lack of respect for officials, but using Ferriby as an example when we played there a couple of years ago - it's easy to see why. The ref was so biased towards the home team it was beyond ridiculous.

I was always surprised at the younger levels, that they allow the matches to be refereed by one of the teams coaches. There were some utterly ridiculously biased refereeing performances and it created a lot of bad feeling, we got fined because I told someone he was a 'bent twat' after one game (this despite the fact that almost every team in the league had complained about him). I realise your not allowed to call opposition coaches bent twats, but he was shamelessly bent.

Same at Ferriby - the fact the kids recognised he was cheating and they were U7 at the time took some doing. We had an incident at a match recently where one of the opposition players was nipping one of ours - to the point our player had several bruises. We've then had another teams player perform a karate chop on one of our players during a match on his neck.

I like to think I try and encourage our players to play the game in the right manner.

If the coaches didn’t ref then there wouldn’t be a game.

What few refs there are are used for the older age groups . I’m not surprised there’s a shortage of refs having listened to the abuse they get every time they officiate.

    I wouldn’t do it.

Something else that got my goat from the 'official' side a couple of years ago, was the launching by Regional FA coaching 'mentors' of the FA's ' England DNA'.

Understood the style that all teams from grassroots through to England Seniors should follow, but it seemed to me to be potentially alienating the mavericks in the game ... the Stan Bowles / Gazza types.

Almost coaching natural street football out of them and creating little robots that all play the same way, which is why I think its a shame Sessegnon and to an extent Shelvey were overlooked for Russia.

Anyway, have the ALLAMS OUT !!! gone yet? My prediction is that they will before England next win a World Cup.

It's embarrassing for Man U, it's a great move for the film though, the deadpool marketing is something else!

I watched a kids game yesterday & I’m going to another this morning.

Slide tackles are legal but not encouraged & heading the ball is not allowed. The game is ****ed.

The parents watching, on the whole, were clueless ****s who would have been best advised to keep their gobs shut.
