I've forgotten who I want and who I don't want. Would anyone mind doing a quick summary of the bookies faves with brief comments??

what this shows to me is tht there isn't a stand out candidate. people have their favourite but for what reason? generally people look at past exploits and experience and some base their opinion on the guy's personality.
what criteria is really essential?
I don't know myself. at this point
in time I don't really care who we get, I'm not hugely attached to past experiences and their cv. Because I strongly believe in fresh starts. so I don't buy tht a previously successful manager will necessarily reproduce his form in different circumstances and vice versa.

If it was down to me I'd let the players pick. someone that gets the players going and happy.

I think the Allam's are leaking ****e names in the hope that when they finally appoint someone, we're just grateful it's not Laws, Megson or Blackwell.

At least I hope so.

I thought you were going to ask for a quick summary of your own thoughts!

Erm no, honestly, the names being bandied around are starting to form into just one in my head and I cant remember who sucks and who doesn't anymore, who we think is serious and who we think are windups. A list of the genuine potential contenders with brief comments would be very helpful!

Also, Ive said before I don't gamble because I dont see the point, but I wondered, in the past for us, or for any other clubs really, does the favorite at the bookies usually get the job?

Wouldn't have minded banging £20 on that Norweigan being the next Wolves manager the day after McCarthy went, the bookies would have probably laughed and slammed the phone down on me if I had asked for a price.

I'm just wondering as to how the Allams are picking the next name if they know barely anything about football. What criteria are they focusing on? cheap wage? At this moment in times a clever bet would be to go for someone who isn't on the bookies mind.

Presumably they can look at a CV and see how well they've done in the past on Google/ message boards with other teams fans, and will see how they perform in interview.

The odds leaders are:

Clark - 2/1
Davies, Robinson - 5/1
McCarthy - 8/1
Blackwell - 9/2
Abbott - 4/1
Brown, Joyce, Megson - 16/1
Dowie - 25/1!!!

Surprised to see Steve Nicol in there, not sure he really has the credentials. Is he just in there because Jozy Altidore once played for us? I'm guessing Dowie is just in there because Phil Brown said he wanted the job again and he used to manage us, so maybe they thought another former manager would also like the job. Maybe Jan Molby will be up there tomorrow.

Hate to say this but there is a stand out candidate. It's Blackwell. None of the others even approach him in terms of ****eness. We'd be better off taking it in turns and each having a one week go at it. The man is a disaster as a manager. I'm an atheist, but please God NO!!!!
