Jake Abraham has passed away aged 56.

The Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels star has died just months after sharing his regrets about not receiving a cancer diagnosis sooner.

The Liverpool native opened up about his condition in July and confessed he had 'left it too late' to go to the doctors after feeling unwell for a while.

Former Aberdeen and St Mirren striker Frank McDougall has died at the age of 65.

McDougall won the Scottish Premier Division title with Aberdeen (managed by Sir Alex Ferguson) in the 1984-85 season.

During that campaign he finished as the top scorer in the division with 22 league goals.

Former Manchester City and England striker Francis Lee has died, aged 79.

Lee scored 148 goals in 330 appearances during an eight-year spell at City, helping the club win multiple honours, including the old First Division title in 1968.

Lee, who started his career at Bolton Wanderers, joined Derby County from City, helping the Rams win their second league title in 1975.

He also earned 27 caps for England, scoring 10 goals.
 
Didn't he have the record for most penalties scored?

Francis Lee. Saw him play for Manchester City at Boothferry Park in the FA Cup v City about 1969? They beat us 1-0 with a goal from Mike Summerbee ( from memory) at the North Stand end, McKechnie came rushing out of his goal and Summerbee chipped him. Lee was a nasty little bastard, but very skillful. he reminded me of Ken Wagstaff at times. Perfected the tripping over your own leg to gain a penalty long before diving became a part of the game. Played for a very good Manchester City team at the time, and made the England team, mind you nearly every English forward who played for a First Division team did in those days. Owned a toilet roll factory in later life. Great player of his time and will be sadly missed by everyone at Man City.

Think it was Neil Young, I know a Lee freekick hit the post. It was on Match of the Day as Man City had won the Cup in 69 v Leicester. Joe Mercer with Kenneth Wolstenholme said it was very difficult conditions,and Wolstenholme said same for both sides. .Still have your book over here !

My 2nd ever game. 1st being a week or two earlier v Carlisle to get voucher / tickets for the Man City game. As a young kid at that time I was a Man City 'fan' and Franny Lee was my favourite player. It was Young who scored (yes, North Stand end). A bit like a delayed 'Bobby Robson' moment, having seen the hallowed turf, the Amber n Black, that was it from then on. But, I guess I could legitimately claim Man City as my 2nd team .
Anyway, Franny Lee, what a player. And he certainly knew how to take a penalty, blast it into top corner. Thanks and RIP Francis Lee.
