After seeing a thousand different bands cover this iconic song, I actually saw The Animals themselves perform it at the Cornucopia festival recently!

It is the way Otis used to do things, Quill. He sang what felt right to him, often changing lyrics or missing out or changing words. See this video for an example. Best 40 minutes of TV music ever
Remember watching it at he time. We had never actually seen these people whose music we liked before.

Nirvana’s MWSTW is well over rated but I don’t mean that as any slight on Nirvana.

It’s simply a ****ing ace song which they perform competently.

It is overrated. It's the weakest of the three covers I've posted IMO, WDYSLN is by far the best. But it is still a brilliant tune. Bowie's is the better version, but I do listen to the Nirvana version more, probably because MTV Unplugged is one my fave albums.

As Tears Go By wasn't a cover. It was written for her. The Stones didn't record it until some time after she did.
