Thank heaven's we've moved on from those dark days half a century ago
That particular religion based conflict has subsided, but there is an alarming and increasing number of religious conflicts all across the globe...
That's very true ....... perhaps it shows that some people can look at past troubles and learn from them, like Sunderland supporters.
Others seem locked in the past and believe violence, upheaval & conflict is the answer, like the horse clouters.
People who believe that anyone with a different religion is evil or unclean or an enemy has serious issues.
The Geneva convention, which many of the Islam orientated nations have signed up to, states that every individual has the right to religious choice and freedom. In reality this is most certainly not the case, with that lady being sentenced to death for the crime of converting to Christianity being a prime example
Absolutely... Although the decision has been reversed it's disgusting. People are advised not to stereotype but it's hard not to after reading this next paragraph...

UAE surprised me, a country that's being more and more westernised by the day. I'd imagine it's gonna be just 12 countries really.
At the root of every person sentenced to death... god... lies. Being sentenced to death because of which lie you believe.
It's pitiful in the modern age tbh .......... believing in summat might be daft but it's doesn't merit a public flogging and execution.
Which 'merciful God' would want anyone punished in that way?
It's the equivalent of you or I being sentenced to death for believing Eastenders is real. More people believe in god than Ian Beale though, so it's fine.
We are presented with truth to know for a fact that Eastenders is a soap opera, shown for entertainment purposes. The facts that disprove the supernatural all controlling deity are just ignored, that's the difference.

Jesus would be a playa now anyhow if he was still around, gone are the days where people were just nice to strangers.
