going back a couple of pages before this thread is deleted (or mercifully put down and laid to rest Amen makes sign of cross) I mentioned a book I'm currently reading but it may have been lost in the furore of this debate <whistle> or maybe just no-ones interested :emoticon-0110-tongu then no worries

On the subject of religion/deities etc anyone one here remembers David Icke- when he declared himself son of god on TV a few years back ? (Think it was on Terry Wogan Show)- Reason I'm asking is I'll read about any subject -just give me a book to read and I'm happy- I'm currently 3/4 through Icke's latest book (he written a few books this is the first one I've read)- Titled 'The Perception Deception' - it's a surprisingly interesting read (albeit with a few really 'wacky way out there' concepts) the subject is primarily a science-socio-political book that encompasses physics and metaphysics, he demonstrates how illusory and narrow our perception of reality is, and how consciousness/awareness is what underlies everything, the illusory nature of time (he suggest we're simulations in a computer program-part of the Matrix in effect) - he also goes into great detail of how religion as a concept come into being and current global conspiracies.
So if anyone wishes to read it pm and I'll email you a digital copy - :emoticon-0105-wink:

Fuc*king hell I forgot the thread was about religion :emoticon-0102-bigsm. I just find it amazing that in the 21st century there are people who still believe in gods:emoticon-0130-devil

Reminds me of when I couldn't get to sleep once and when I was flicking through the sky channels after exhausting my pipe on babestation, I came across a show it was a pop idol or a 'got talent' show, but from Rwanda or some other African hell hole... anyway, it was the final, the winner was given... and I'm not exaggerating here, a 2nd hand (probably about 12 years old) Fiat Brava.

Not only is that hilarious, chances are she had nowhere to park it in her shanty town and it was robbed by the time she woke up the next morning. No record deal, just the car.

I wouldn't bother.

That's religion's fault that is.

Any mention of religion or politics on a board like this is just the start of endless bickering. I don't know why people bother with it and then get arsey that people act like arseholes.

That's the good side of religion Comm, see, it's not all ridiculous. Apart from the fact that I could never touch her... saying that I probably couldn't touch a bird like her without getting arrested afterwards anyway, nun or not.

Exactly mate, the fact that they thanked 'god' instead of the person who handed their ticket back to them says it all. ****ing pathetic.

If I was the woman who found it I'd have agreed to give it back if I could have half, in writing, otherwise it's going down the bog.
