What is it with players agreeing to come to us and then pimping themselves out to try and look for a better deal!
Free agents are going do this all day long! They will play all clubs off against each other to get the best deal. The only plus we have over the others in our league is money and potential now, although not guarenteed to go up, we should really be the next best option over and above current prem sides.
It's been about a fortnight since the alleged negotiations with Nugent started. If he hasn't agreed a deal by tea time I'd be half tempted to tell him to **** off!

The next 5 weeks are going to be very interesting & then the next 9 months after that. So I understand there´s going to be a flow of new signings coming to LCFC in that for mentioned 'next 5 weeks' but ones that have been very cleverly worked out by SGE & the LCFC back room staff.
Think we will find that old contracts are about to run out for a lot of the free agents. It is only natural that a lot of players will have a look at all offers coming their way. I dont blame them for that. Think when we get to 1st July we will see some comfirmations - once contracts actually kick in with the players that we have been dealing with. Those who demand a transfer fee - different kettle of fish. They could be announced as signings now if we had reached agreement with them eg Peltier. So lets not diss the free agents at the moment - they are still under contract to their old clubs, and just may be professional enough to show a little bit of loyalty by not releasing that they are joining a different club whilst still under contract (and being paid) by their current club. As stated elsewhere, the deal for KS needs to be either done quickly or ditched completely. Personally, I like the look of Alex Smithies and think he would be worth a punt. Free agents that have already signed for others have officially been released by existing clubs to get them off the wage bill and so they could sign for the club of their choice eg Westwood and King from the chavs. Personally, I will be patient til the 2nd July and then be asking questions why exactly players are not willing to join a club with excellent facilities, huge backing and a desire for Premiership football.

hold on, from that, it sounds like he does not know that Nugent is leaving? Can someone tell Cotterill that out of contract players generally do leave the club, as they won't play for free
What I don't understand is if Nugent is supposed to sign on July 1st when his contract runs out then why have we confirmed Danns already - surely he would be confirmed on July 1st as well rather than now.
