IA regarding the Hollands booking after the whistle, i asked Euell about it on facebook and he said ''Jason Euell: Bishop kicked the ball at our fans and myself and Danny Hollands weren't to happy about it.'' Which is great to see the CAFC players sticking up for the fans, showing great spirit, passion and togetherness already!

Was a good performance, we really should have won by more. BWP missed 2 clear chances.

Hayes looked mighty impressive again, he is a real find, he was slicing the County defence apart at will.

Hollands got stuck in wonderfully, more or less nullified their midfield

Their goal was poorly defended by us, it seems to be our major weakness and with cloggers like County in this league will be exposed.

All in all great cause for optimism.

I also just came back from the game.

why why why didn't BWP cross to Jackson?! It would have killed the game. he got a bit of stick for that, but we won, so WHO CARES. We mostly dominated the game which is great and left meadlow lane with a smile on my face.

    Bring on colchester!

Thanks ForEver for that. He did kick the ball into the crowd but I had thought it was something from before that. Fair play in that case.

    Onwards and upwards

Think the whole Team was once again in a class of their own - i.e. the way they passed the ball at the start of the second half was simply amazing (and if they've not completely gelled yet then I'm terrified for other clubs)

Hayes for me was Man of the Match today, his control is getting better as the ball just seems to stick to him whenever he receives it (is superglue illegal in Football?) along with his passes linking Midfield with Attack, well deserved goal and perhaps had he not been rusty from little game time could have had another earlier on

FYI - Has anyone else noticed the report on the BBC website which says Wiggins got a Yellow Card and that Hollands didnt, I dont know if I missed something during todays game yet I dont remember that happening (especially as CAFC.co.uk says only Hollands was booked??)

Least they got our Goalscorers right today :)

Great result for us today, especially away from home! Can't wait to see our new team in the flesh against scunthorpe having been on holiday for the last two weeks. Based on what's being said here, with Wagstaff seemingly acquiring an extra yard of pace and with two cracking finishes under his belt, i'd like to see him played up front alongside Hayes with Green coming in on the right and BWP dropping to the bench. Can't see it happening, but I would love to see if it worked!

We'll do our best Rocky, but offer me a dull 1-0 victory now and I'd take it quicker than you can say Giuliana Grazioli

Having seen the 'highlights' on TFLS (getting seriously fed up with the lousy coverage on that, CAFC player here I come), one thing that struck me was how tenacious Danny Hollands looked for both goals. Add those two to the dispossession Chris Solly managed last week and you get the feeling Powell is telling them they have to close down and get pressure on the opposition midfielders, something we've been notoriously bad at, pretty much since Parker left. Very impressed with Hollands so far.

Right- in the car back from Manchester, read match reports from papers and views on here and here is my opinion:

Terrific result is the main thing, but still feel like the team is still in second gear (not a bad thing). So much more to come, not a bright start but we slowly got back in to it. The difference is that last season we would have surrendered by the time waggy scored.

BWP and that chance- hindsight is a beautiful thing, but I don't blame him for going alone. He's a goalscorer and don't mind him being selfish. Didn't work y'day but will do many times over the course of the season. Btw, he and hayes really starting to understand eachother- constantly talking off the ball and giving handshakes.

Once again Stephens and Hollands impressed. One tenacious as ever, whilst the other has that calming influence. Stephens passing is fantastic, but it seems so effortless.. Can't sing his praises enough. Put a few lively deep crosses in.

Defence- looked more solid than last week. Put under a lot more pressure than last week, but Taylor and Morrison soaked it up. Taylor in particular took the lead yesterday and marshalled the back 4- wasn't afraid to raise his voice. Thought wiggins had a good game too, not seen much about him yet. I like that he hugs the left side- doesn't drift in what so ever.

Colu- still as nervous as ever about any game coming. Love the feel good factor, but this league still has the ability to throw a spanner in the works. They will need to step it up from y'day game to get 3 points. Set pieces still scare the crap out of me, and colu will be aware it is a weakness of ours. I'm undecided about waggy/green. Waggy goal was the game changer (obvious statement, I know) but once again he didn't do much else. Think CP will stick with the same team, but still think I'd be tempted to replace scotty with DG.

Irish- down here on Tuesday I take it? <laugh>

Super Chrissy, agree re. BWP... I want our striker to know his surroundings, but I want him to be selfish and score as well, as all true goalscorers do. Obviously the best thing to do yesterday would've been to pass, but he scores so many goals because his instinct is to shoot, so I certainly won't hold it against him.

Good news on the defence, that's the one area where they'll take time to reach their best, know each other's styles and strengths... if we can keep winning in the meantime so much the better.

Col U... really couldn't think of a worse game to have on Tuesday, BUT I think any sort of positive result will just reinforce all that confidence from the first 2 games, and a defeat will leave only 4 days until a home game to remedy it. Keep Scotty in for this, but prepare to see Danny Green 2nd half vs Col U.
