Just in from the game now. Most of it wasn't pretty, but job done. In the closing stages, I felt we gave Notts a bit too much respect - they became a bigger threat the more we retreated, and bringing on two defenders for attacking players and lumping it forward aimlessly could've definitely backfired.

Still, all good, and very happy to beat that lot. It could've been a lot more comfortable if BWP squared it to Jackson to score into the empty net, but maybe he was worried about the offside flag. On we go to a nine pointer against Col U rule ok !

Hayes MOTM for me. Bonus points to Elliot for winding Lee Hughes up.

Very glad to see Hayes get his first goal, should take some pressure off him now, if there was any. Really happy for Waggy to have started the season so well, sends out a great message to the squad and that was a brave and good decision by Powell, not one I would've made. I'm going to be enjoying Football League Show for a second week running, perhaps not quite so much as last week with Palarse winning, but perhaps more so because an away 3 points is excellent, and against a side who looked impressive last week

Another great result. Well done CP and the boys!

I'm just watching SSN and they have just shown Steve McLaren being interviewed after Forest's defeat at Millwall. Here's what he had to say...

"We don't like to lose and we lost the game but the biggest disappointment was, you know, for three quarters of the field, of the pitch, we looked very good but nothing in the final third".

Back to school for McLaren - Needs to work on those fractions.

    dont change a winning team.

great mantra. props to mike t and franco as they were bang on with their thoughts to retain wagstaff despite green`s obvious kwolity.
mark my words, when green does get a chance, he will be so motivated to take it.

Why are we only on 6 points?? I thought today's game was a six pointer?

We must be playing double-or-quits on the Colchester game... presumably that's now a 12-pointer.

It's a nine pointer because if we win we'll be on nine points.

Well, that's just kinda dull... but so long as the last game of the season is a 138 pointer for the same reason I'll be happy.

Thanks IA, gotta get excited about these 12 pointers. Got to be loving the fact that both the teams we've beaten have won their other games as well... that's another great sign for us.

I too predicted an unchanged line-up and believe that again Green will be on the bench Tuesday night with another unchanged team barring any injuries/illness getting picked up between now and then. Green will get his chance at a run in the side soon enough.

Colchester will be a tougher game than today, we got lucky against them both games last season.

Also, another game and only 1 yellow card (Wiggins), that sure makes a change from last year, we'd had 2 reds by this point!!

Hollands got a yellow after the match finished. There was a bit of a schemozzle between Euell and Bishop at full time and Hollands got involved and booked somehow in there.

yes, hopefully CP has drilled it into them there's no point going in for silly/reckless challenges or giving verbals to the ref if we're 2 or 3 goals up and earning needless yellow cards i'm sure CP took great note of how John Robinson always talked himself into a yellow card every week

edit - IA posting that whilst I was typing mine now makes a mockery of my point <laugh>

Bizarre!! And a bit stupid, but am sure it was in a worthy cause!! Worthy causes include laying out Lee Hughes, by the way.

When I say 'schemozzle between Euell and Bishop', I mean Bishop started having a go at Euell right after the referee's whistle, and other players got involved. I'm not really sure why, must've been something Euell said during the match

Unfortunately (or fortunately), Hughes only wandered up after most people had calmed down.

Lee Hughes wouldn't have got involved, remember he is a coward who runs away and hides for 24 hours when there are any problems :(
