Would Byram, Cook or Taylor get into this squad, far less be 1st team starters? I'm not so sure. Taylor couldn't manage to hold down a 1st team berth last season. Cook was always a bit 'exciting but unfinished' for me (& I still don't see an improvement tbh!), & I'm not sure that TC would pick Byram ahead of Ayling, Anita or Berra (but I must confess to being a fan & I'd pick him :D ).

Byram, Cook have gone backwards as never play. Yes richer now & yes Cook did great for the U19s as Skipper winning the world cup but why isnt he getting game time? Still learning his craft but would have done that better actually playing for Leeds. Taylor was decent but as WJ said he couldnt hold his place last season & you have to question his judgement as even Monk knew before the season started last year that he was leaving. Badly advised was Monks term for him. He let us all down. Cook would be in front of Viera but not in front of O'Kane and how Phillips has grown without Cook. Was byram better than Berardi or Ayling? Blaming Cellino is easy but Monk, Taylor both knew a new owner with funds coming in, Wood knew too and he could see what was happening but was lure of cash for him. I wont slag them but I will try and forget them and think everyone else should too

Don't think Cook and Byram would get in our team now TBH

I felt like that before Wood went - goals from elsewhere meant we weren't as reliant on one individual, though at that stage I still had my fingers crossed behind my back. <laugh>

I see plenty of goals coming from Grot as he looks the dogs and was chased by SeriaA & Prem clubs but chose us as he wants to play regular we also have Ekuban who looks decent both these players use speed, power and track back too so hardly replicas of Wood. Not sure if this Swedish striker is coming but if hes a striker not good umbers unless hes a winger then he has fantastic strike rate.

We have goals from Phillips Roofe, Saiz Alioski Hernandez Pennington, Ayling, Jannson, even CBJ .

Wouldn't want either back, we don't need them now.

Byram was a class act for us in difficult times though, I was at ER with my wee girl when we beat Spurs in the cup a few years ago - 2 standout memories, Reg Varney scored and Byram had Gareth Bale in his pocket the whole 90. <laugh>

Hey Doc,you might have to think about changing your slogan soon (If the club showed the same ambition as the fans, we'd be champions of Europe - again):emoticon-0142-happy
