I'm a forward, mate. I'd happily play midfield though, because I'm very fit for my age, at the moment. My strengths are heading and finishing.
Absolutely up for this mate. As has been said, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and we ain't getting any younger. A chance to play on that turf is something I couldn't pass up. Just thinking about it is giving me a thrill....
I play midfield but more of the attacking type, so you can sit in behind and clear up my ****ups mate because there will be a few. I do have quite the shot from 30 yards though (I think I developed it so I wouldn't have to run so far, lol). I still play every week in an over 35's league.
I used to love anything like this and would still give it a good go but it's difficult for me to plan a month ahead so this is impossible. We're taking the boat down to the south of France for around a month and supposed to be leaving this weekend, haven't packed a thing yet. It sounds like good crack but the summer is my busiest time, hence having to take holidays now, so it would be a last minute decision. I hate it when people promise to meet up, there's loads of talking & excitement then it all fizzles out. So I won't say a definite yes until I know I can come, even just for the laugh
All I know, is that it's likely to be some time between mid June, and, mid July. We have just about enough already to get a team out for a game. I'll be looking to confirm again in a few weeks, and then the next step will be to give people a further month to be able to get their money together. If they don't turn up, then it won't be refundable and somebody else will take their place. Whether that new person wants to refund the £100 will be between them to sort out.
So we have to buy our jock straps from the same shop, and shave our chests accordingly to befit the squad hirsuitness?
@grandpops @Blunham Mackem @marcusblackcat Because of the numbers now getting involved, and it is a forum sort of get together. Any chance you could change the name of this thread to 'Not606 match at the SOL' and sticky it?
I'm updating the definites on the first page. We have 13, three more and that will be enough. First 18 are in, after that people will have to go reserve in case anyone drop out, unless we get enough for two teams.

I'm an attacking midfielder or Right Back - not really got the legs to play right back any more though as I found out earlier this season - as long as we have a DM I can play behind the striker - can't shoot for **** but I can pass a ball (or used to be able to!) I've stuck it and amended the title for you mate. Things are quite quiet on the play on the pitch with the lads I did this year. Looks like I may be up for it. Am meeting with the lads this weekend for a kick about so will try to find out. Also - you need to book it and pay a deposit - not exactly sure how much but we had one lad who was responsible for all of the payments and we all sent him the money via paypal or bank transfer. There were around 60 games this year from what the security lads were saying at £3600 a time! Nice wedge
Maybe we should have a cheerleaders section for the lads that can't play? With some of the usernames there could be some very amusing chants!!!
I`m thinking I might attend to lend my support. Certainly not for hurling abuse at all I might even take my camera to record some of the action. Just to highlight the fantastic abilities of our members and absolutely not for later humiliation. edit: or blackmail.
Come on Pops your only a year older than me so you could do a ten minute stint like me. It should be a good laugh, hope peoples expectations are not too high.
