lol talk about timing.. I finished the race with 0% fuel muahahaha. Well after a terrible qualify and starting P19.. race turned out very well moving up to P9.. sooooo close to points! Im still very happy this was my 3rd race and I finish higher every time. Points next time!
Good recovery Chrispa76. This race was a car KILLER, just spent 10mil replacing parts, engine started at 60% and finished at 99% (risks were 10,10,15 as well). Race was ok, got stuck behind the biggest train of 6 cars covered by 1.5 seconds then when I had the chance to jump them in the pits I had the slowest stops of anyone (twice ). Managed to finish 8th from 14th because of a great strategy and people messing up theirs. For the next race I am thinking 2 stops on the medium again (maybe softs with the temperature).
This was a car killer indeed. Engine at 71% is 5 million :| Gonna have to lower my strategy a bit. 14 to 8th is great, grats on the point! Yes its very cold I was thinking the same.. but how much does the temperature affect the tyre wear? and how much does it affect the fuel consumption? But both tyre and fuel are affected negatively right?
Christian congrats on ur 9th place, ur gettin better every race i say ur driver is improving so keep doing what ur doing. TheModestMatt it pays to have a good setup sometimes. 2 of my parts were at 99% also. my race was a disaster, i lost 4 places at the start aftr going wide and then got stuck behind cars so i tought id stick it out for a bit till my pit and hopefully get some fresh air, so i finally pitted and was looking good until my tyre blew out so i had to make an extra pit stop. i finished 16th from 9th. i cant really tell how my driver did but the whole race went wrong from my poor qualifying (9th, made too many mistakes) too my pitting, the best being 26 seconds. im dissapointed. not too worry im officially accepting ther fact that i wont promote, i mean i will still try as im 13 poits of 4th but id have to pull some good races so im not expecting it. aftr 2 horrible races i look foward to my home race. albert park (wich is 5 mins from my house by the way) i think 2 stops with soft will be the way to go. will see how far extra soft compound will take me but so far its lookin like softs. gotta work out fuel also.
I think you might come up a bit short, im going 80-83-83. With regards to temperature affecting tyre and fuel, im not 100% sure on that but I think with high temperatures like in spain this made the tyres wear quickly, not sure how it affects fuel though.
hey i guys i think fuel usage will be about 250 but im working it out now, with the temperatures, i know 100% that it does affect the tyres but how much i couldnt be exactly sure. u could easily try and working it out by comparing tracks with similar attribute but with diff temperature. also i think humidity may affect fuel but couldnt be sure. from what iv read humidity doesnt affect much (maybe like 0.01 or so per km) but then again i couldnt be 100% sure. im trying to get one of my teammates joined on here who seems to know what hes talking about and is doing well, he seems friendly i think hell be a good edition. ima do some working out and be back.
ok so i worked out the fuel usage to be roughly 240. i had to race data with medium fuel being valencia and magny cours. magny cours used 237 litres and valencia used 241 and seems accurate. i will be using 250 litres for security. for some reason i think the extra softs will last for 2 stints. with magny cours i did a 2stopper with softs that had 3% tread left when i pitted with 106 litres!!! it was also exactly same temperature. where using roughly 20 litres less so will have to work out weather 20 litres less is enough for the super compounds to last. with zandvoort (medium tyre wear, Low fuel) the temperature on average was about 5 degrees hotter and i used softs that lasted for a 2 stopper and i piitted coz i was out of fuel and my tread left was 29%!!!! with 75 litres. oesterreichring (medium tyre wear, high fuel) i used softs that lasted for a 2 stopper, temp was 7 degrees but when i pitted coz i was out of fuel i had 32% tread left!!. im sure theres a way to work out weather itd make it with those imformation (christian ur good with maths lol) but if the extra softs make it it will degrade and loose time once u have 20% left but the extra softs would be so much quicker. im kinda leaning towards extra softs but will wait to see what u guys think first before i do anything.
Im thinking the super soft wont last and the soft will be very close, medium is a safe option but I think doing a 2-3 laps below 20% thread on the softs (which i think will happen) would be quicker overall during a stint. Ideally I want to go long during the first stint to jump a lot of cars in the pits so I need to estimate how much fuel I can get away with before the tyres fall of the cliff. I will try and do that later.
Hey guys, sorry been offline because of some virus crap that completely destroyed my connection. Should be sorted now though I will do some calculations to see what I can figure out but you guys have much more data and experience so I think it is better that I do not say too much I was just lucky last race that I finished with only 5 liters left in the tank. Still 2 days left though so no rush.
Ok guys im gonna do this race on the soft tyre, looking at Fuji testing (medium tyre wear and the only data I have to use that is similar to this race) they did 20 laps (tyre deg 84%) also because Melbourne is a bit longer per lap you're probably looking at a bit more wear but I think it is worth it over the slower medium tyre. With regards to fuel I used 243l in Barcelona (high fuel cons and 0.3km shorter race) so it has to be less for this race, but im playing it reasonably safe by using 245 for this race knowing that fuel wont be an issue if I do this.
TheModestMatt i just looked over my testing at fuji and aftr looking at that the extras wont make it but when i tested it was 50 degrees so if was friggen hot. i calculated that if it was a full race then i would have use 255 litres but the humidity was 80%percent and melbourne will be roughly 20% humidity so im using 245 litres. with same setups medium tyres was 1 second slower. what was humidity and temp? Christian ur adice is always helpfull so i say dnt stop i think its important that we all sound like we kno what wer talking about even if we dont coz that way if ur wrong, u kno u can learn from it but also its easier to pick to pick up things from another person when theyre always giving helpfull advice. in q1 i qualified 3rd with one top runner to qualify and in q2 i qualified 5th and i kno iv fueled more than others with 85 litres so im happy. all up im starting in 4th so far with one major top runner to qualify but i have a feeling i qualify ahead of them. its great to see my driver qualify well coz when i qualified and most of other top runners qualified under me u can tell that they wernt happy that i qualified ahead of them so theyv gone with a lower fuel in second qualify and iv still qualified ahead of them . iv learnt not to get too excited tho coz of last 2 races lol but i have my fingers crossed.
Ben - Temp was 12 degs and humidity was 24 during that testing session, 2 stopper softs is the way I will go, though 3 stops on the extra could also be a good way to go to get good quali and a clear track when pitting early.
Im continuing the driver experiment and on the look out for a new signing. Im now looking at high Concentration and good motivation
got my new driver: Neel Siffert Ovr:85 Conc:191 Talent:42 aggr:0 exp:123 Tec:105 Stam:5 char:148 Motiv:167 Rep:0
Just done qualifying p8 in q1 and p12 in q2 (looks like im a lot heavier that guys in front of me) starting p10 so far, looking good for solid points just gotta hope the tyres last with the 86l of fuel I have started with. Also Ben are you tweaking your set-up between q1 and q2 with the temp difference? Good luck for tomorrow guys. ElBando - looks like a decent all round driver, though I find concentration is good for the race but does almost nothing for qualifying pace. I think the key to quali is experience and talent. There is always the same guy on pole in my league, that's the driver I want.
TheModestMatt hey good job with qualifying, i say ur in good position to get points and especially with a heavier load. one thing iv noticed is that maintaing position at the start aint neccessarily good if u want to stay in position. i find that its mainly to make sure u dnt get hit by another car and if cars behind u have overtake where possible will overtake u at the start because ur "maintaining position" ima go overtake where possible because iv lost too many positions when iv ''maintained my position". i tried to tweek last week with the diff temps i got given but wasnt sure wheather it had work so this week i didnt try coz i qualified well in q1 so i didnt wanna jeopordise it. for some reason i think that not everything on there is true or rather some calculations are unique to every driver so u might wanna check everything and just make sure. i think they are just guides but u might wanna try it urself but like i said i couldnt be 100% sure. El Bando ye id say ur driver looks alright cept his talent, my last driver had 240 concentration and 50 talent and was a bit of a flop but u have great experience and some stamina, id say ur driver will be ok for qualifying to put u up in the top ten and maybe get a few points for the race. the one thing iv noticed is that the average points per race is a big tell. one of my teammates went for a driver that when i looked at him his stas where unusaul like 160 concentration, 80 talent 60 exp and even had like 30 aggression but his average points per race was like 5 and is doing well with him but id be interested to see how u go but i think ur driver will good enough for points, how much? i reckon maybe 4 points per race (guesstimation) i hope u do well though. i was talki8ng to my teammates at once and i was for a second just listening and they were talking about theyr drivers and how concentration was important, one said his concentration was low at 190!!! and my other teammate almost laughed at him and said "lol, yep ur gonna have to work on his concentration big time" so high concentration seems to be the go and i mean higher than 200. in mine and christians sake our driver has good talent so even if we dont promote we will still have drivers and i will sacrifice races towards the end of the season by goin 15 mil in the red to wipe out his motivation and keep my driver if thats what it takes for me to keep him but either way all i have to do is work on his concentration and maybe a bit of stamina next season as his talent is 133, his concentration is 176 and experience 155. i already have a good base and on top of that i can manage my money and car easily as i dnt have to worry too much about if my driver is good or werather i should change him.
Ok by my calculations you need 248+ fuel for this track(engine lvl 2). 248/58 ~4,28/lap. Because of my very limited experience and data collection I have decided to calculate with 4.4 liters per lap. I am going to try a one stopper on hard tyres doing 32 laps(140.8l) and 26 laps(114.4l). Because I will be running so heavy I think the fuel consumption will increase a bit more so I am starting with 142 liters and fueling with 115 liters. Starting in 21st of 21 starters
wow good luck with that strategy Chrispa, I havnt dared a one stop yet. Ive always gone for the safe 2 stop option (or my collasal 8 stop fail a few races ago )
