Point 1: Cabaye has never said that he didn't want to play. Pardew said that he didn't want to choose Cabaye because of his state of mind. You can believe that if you like. I don't. I expect the club want the deal to go through and don't want to risk injury.

Point 2: Comparing footballers to doctors, teachers, etc is stupid. Footballers work in the entertainment industry. If you want to compare them to anyone, that would be the comparison to make. Tome Cruise get £20 million to act badly in a bad movie. Cabayre gets £4 million to play 45 games of football, sometimes well. On that bases he's grossly underpaid. The only real criteria is how many bums you can put on seats.

It's all about opinions, you don't have to believe what people say on here, but you can't deny them the right to say what they think.

Spot on. I really don't believe Cabaye has refused to play. All Newcastle want is a return on their 'investment', even though this will ultimately cost them relegation.

A job is a job, a contract is a contract. If you accept payment to undertake work, then you should do that work regardless of the industry.

As for refusing not to play, I must admit that's not why I think he's an unprofessional twat. That is because his manager can't pick him because he doesn't think he is in the right place mentally. Basically I find that completely sackless. I find this cotton wool theory a little far fetched, his silence speaks volumes.
