Let's face it, our defence was useless with Mirifin and Mariappa at the back, we really miss a big like Martin Taylor. Nosworthy does seem to certainly fit that bill, so I'm willing to give him a chance. Its just a shame that Dale Bennett doesn't seem to be trusted as a third-choice centre back when a couple of years ago he was keeping Jay DeMerit out of the team!

i agree with all of this :)

Dale Bennett started ahead of Jay once when he was coming back from a few games out with injury. He never got into the team ahead of Jay on form alone (not that I would expect a youngster to do so).

As for Taylor, I miss him a lot more in the opposition's box than our own. Defensively he hasn't quite been himself this season.

This really puzzles me - actually it really annoys me. Nosworthy isn't a great player and hasn't played for something like 21 months. We have some promising youngsters in Bennett and Thompson who seem not to be trusted and Mirfin, one of Dyche's own signings, who also seems not to be trusted - what was the point of that signing then? He was meant to be cover for Maps and Tiny. The team is crying out for a loaned in creative midfielder and all we seem to be doing is papering over cracks with journeymen and the unwanted of lesser Premiership sides whilst the promising youngsters of last season linger in the "development" team or at lower league sides. I'm usually pretty optimistic about things but this is becoming a bit of a joke. The only player signed, permanently or on loan, since Dyche took over who was ANY better than what we already had is Dickinson. Aaghh!

Was Dyche facing away from the pitch when we played Sheff Utd last year? Nosworthy was Not Worthy of a place in a struggling relegated side and he isnt likely to have improved by not playing for 6 months.

If he was looking for a centre half from SAFC why not Kilgallon? Not manly enough? Hair too long?

A couple of years ago, whenever someone came up with a ridiculous transfer target and asked for others, I would answer Pelé.

I've dropped that gag for fear that the powers that be will take note, and he might actually end up playing a league game for us.

We all thought or hoped that Sean would work with the existing 2010/11 squad and add a few new faces in key areas - these panic loan moves are unsettling the supporters but just imagine what they are doing to the confidence within the squad!

Another panic signing by a manager who is floundering.

the results and performances are bad enough..but IMO SD's biggest error is not playing the youngsters. They are the future of this club and always have been. We have some real talent and some real creativity amoungest our younger players. Except these guys are nowhere to be seen.

NN is a throw back to Keith Dublin without the 100% effort. We will now have 2 players in the defence who can't control or kick the ball.....

I'm doing my best to believe that Dyche knows what he is doing, and that this is all part of some sort of ingenious 'long game' (no pun intended) masterplan.
However i'm finding it hard to reconcile the fact that I thought he was employed for continuity reasons (and because he was cheap) with this continual gathering of random players who, to my mind, don't seem to be particularly high on quality, desire or commitment for Watford. This is not the Watford way, and we are in danger of becoming an 'everyclub' filled with individuals who could just as easily form a 'Colchester' or a Tranmere' or a 'Wycombe'.

totally agree Berks

I really dont get it! Is Baz paying Dyche to take us down for some bizarre reason! I am struggling to understand his tactics(lack of) his signings and his obstinance in not playing our kids!

This.

Plus I feel we are doing some severe damage to our attractiveness as a club who gives youngsters a chance. I listened to Freeman on TalkSport this morning singing the praises of his youngsters who have got Palace where they are. I felt like calling in and saying "Yeah, I used to feel that way".

Possibly the greatest bloke that ever walked the earth, our Nyron. Heart of a lion, body of a greek god, and the mind of a great philosopher.

Look after him (and if you could find someone to pop round his and gently sing "the lion sleeps tonight" as he rests, it will improve his performance by 25%)

I always say to a Foxes colleague of mine that if you've heard of a player, we can't afford them. Now, I've heard of Nyron Nosworthy but looking at these comments it looks like I might have heard of him for the wrong reasons!

Well, looks like a bit of humble pie needed. He was solid, calm, did everything that was needed and played nice balls out rather than hoofing. Also showed a bit of seasoned professional nouse on a couple of occassions to break up attacks that might have had Bennett in trouble. Certainly committed, maybe he's got a point to prove.
