Can we reach seventh heaven to keep the wining run rolling this weekend with a 7th victory? This Saturday we face what is on paper our strongest test of the season so far with West Brom coming to Carrow Road. As with the midweek game I doubt there will be massive changes to the starting line up this weekend. Hanley is the real worry after he came off with 10minutes to go on Wednesday and is doubtful for this weekend. Gibson has had some very rocky moments this season, hopefully after some time out of the team he can come back in and display the solidity that he showed in our last Championship campaign - it would be nice to get 1 left footed player into the defence! Byram reportedly struggled during midweek and may have taken a bit of a knock but I would expect him to retain his starting spot, although if he were to drop to the bench it would be interesting to see Mclean shifted back there and Sara to come in to the midfield. Although yet to register a goal or assist this season Cantwell's performances have been good so I would expect him to keep his place, although again introducing a left footer in the shape of Dowell/Sinani could be an option - perhaps even move them to the right and bring Sargent out to the left to have them both cutting inside from the wing. Although considered to be promotion rivals before the start of the season, West Brom find themselves in 20th position. However, they have only lost 2 games - the same as us, their problem has been converting draws to wins - 6 draws so far this season with just the 1 win. They lost 3-2 at home to Birmingham in midweek. Positive vibes!!! ON THE BALL CITY!!!
I find this one impossible to call. If Bruce has lost the dressing room, it could be a cakewalk as the players take their chance to get rid of him with the international break coming up. If he hasn't, they might play out of their skins after the midweek embarrassment, and on paper they have one of the few squads to rival us in this division.
The real problem against Bristol was having two right footed players on the left side of defence. If Gibson plays, Byram will have a left-footer outlet to work the ball up the pitch. McLean is also left-footed and has done well when covering at LB. If Hanley can play, another option would be a back 3 with WBs. Sara's preferred position is at number 10, which is where he came on replacing Ramsey, who is excellent going forward but not so good defensively. Smith has some tricky choices to make. WhoScored's predicted lineups:
Ouchy at Gibson’s WhoScored score… Interesting that McLean’s is our third highest after Sargent and Nunez
Oh boy they are coming thick and fast now - but I am confident that SC will lead us to yet another 3 points, creating a rod for his own back as he has to do it all over again very soon - no pressure Suffolk Canary Edit - I just noticed there are no more games this month I would rather we had 1 or 2 games every week to keep the momentum
I am not sure Byram is ready for another 90 minutes so I would rather see McLean at LB again. We seemed to play better with him playing behind the midfield too. I know we are a bit light in central midfield too but anyone other than Kenny would suit me
Sargent was pretty poor on the right wing but he's 6 in 6 and can't be left out . He also distracts from Pukki and gives him space , all too often the opposition marks Pukki out of the game and we are toothless.
Ramsey again gets the glory position. No criticism if he doesn't defend, glory if he gets an assist. I wonder why?
