Question would city have had to pay SB if they had sacked him? i am not sure whether his contract had pay off on sacking or not ?
Just seems a bit strange that we have new owners circling who might have had another manager in mind, but didn't want to have to stump up more cash as soon as they took over to get rid of the old manager.
My guess is that the deal is just about done and apart from the SMC business this may have been in the back of the owners minds to move things along.
Maybe I'm just being to cynical or am I ???

The new owners wanted to keep Bruce, he only stayed on as he was assured they were taking over, the deal died over a week ago, it's finished.

I just have the feeling that Ehab was unhappy with the way the team were playing towards the end of the season and just does not rate Bruce. I think he has forced him into this situation knowing that Bruce would walk and he will have someone in the pipeline waiting to take over and will give him a better budget. OR is that just too sensible. I am trying to think there is light at the end of the tunnel because it just seems very depressing to think that they had a big row and there really is no money and Ehab doesn't give a ****. I can't get my head around him running the club into the ground, pissing the supporters off to the point where the ground is empty it is just so stupid. I heard someone say today well we had all this handwringing etc when Barmby went and then we got Bruce and everyone was happy again. Think I'm trying to make the best of a bad situation and am just totally confused.

Ehab has no football brain, no idea about it, he's said so himself, why would he think anything about how we were playing last year?

please amercians, please come back, you will be seen as heroes.. save our football club i beg

The championship with decent owners I'd
Go for that .I'd be looking forward to taking my place at the Circle instead of
Watching hull rotten tigers sinking like a stone with owners who care nothing for who hull city are and what this fine club represensents. The devil take them I say

I just think it's a huge shame..
we had a good stable manager.. we were/are perhaps seen as a yo/yo club a stable top 2 divsion football club.. who COULD have broken into the middle part of the prem.. i don't care what division we are in because i love the club but ofcourse i love to see us amongst the best. now i worry if we can even be a championship club within the next few years..

allams literally disgust me.

The "Mouth-watering News" post North Ferriby United game conspiracy theory - a transcript...

Peter Grieve:
"Hi big man, all going to plan with the stubborn buggers. As expected, they hiked the price, so now we go into phase 2."
Steve Bruce:
" Ah, so I revise my requirements list to add 2 more signings needed due to recent injuries ? Bound to be at least 1 more during pre-season, so should I make it 9 ?"
Grievesy:
"You've got it big man. They have our final bid price, they know that by adding more player assets & salaries we will walk away. so they'll reduce the transfer budget, piss you off enough to give them an ultimatum. Just tell ''em to fulfill their promise or let you go. Either way we'll make sure you're ok. To reiterate, we want you to stay to keep us in the top league, but you walking will destabilize them even more. They'll be desperate to get their money, come back crawling, likely with the original price or even less. That would mean a larger transfer budget than they were offering you, which was as you recall a fair bit higher than the one they guaranteed you."
Brucey.
"I'm right on it Pete. To make it more authentic, I think I'll shed a few tears and make sure that becomes common knowledge, which should discredit them even more. Looking forward to giving it a go until at least the January transfer window.
Grievesy.
"Ok big man, just make sure you time it right...we need those players before the summer window closes".
Brucey:
Thanks Pete...a win/win maybe !

What amazes me is that folk don't understand that. Bruce likes a wedge (don't we all?), but he liked Ehab less. Kinda says it all.

Pointless coming up with credible names for a manager. This club is seen as a successful basket-case; there's good reason. Success has a lifespan.

Anyone considered that the choice of new manager will probably be made by the new potential owners?

The Allams probably only have a couple of months left in charge, so they won't want to appoint anyone that scuppers the sale.
