Interesting stuff. Amazing how long York and Norwich were up at the top of that list. Norwich only dropping down in the late 1800s. Lincoln high up it quite a while. Been to Totnes, smashing little town. Was the richest place in the country a few centuries back. Amazing to think it was bigger than what are now large cities back then.
Also, early 20th century Hull was quite a bit bigger than Newcastle or Sunderland. Shame we couldn't build stadiums and get crowds like theirs.
Do you think Hull’s fishing industry has had an impact on crowd sizes?
I’m guessing a large population of men were away at sea each weekend & when they returned they were on the piss for a few days before heading off again.
It seems the Allems already have a contingency plan in place should Nigel decide to walk away. They have recently interviewed former Blackburn and Pompey Boss Michael Appleton about the position. He has just returned to WBA as First Team Coach but presumably they wouldn't stand in his way should a Head Coach offer come his way.

Still don’t understand why contracts run to end of June when season ends in May for all.
Hull lost 80000 population between 1981 and 1991. That is some exodusAlso how much population change's over time
